Enlightened Equipment Enigma

rated 4 of 5 stars Solid lightweight option for those looking to spend a significant amount of time outdoors in a variety of environments. This quilt is also great for those more mobile sleepers who never seem to wake up in the position they went to sleep in. While I am a big fan of this product, I wouldn't recommend this to less-seasoned individuals who are heading out for shoulder season trips. I have had the pleasure of using this quilt for over 200 nights of outdoor slumber. What follows is my detailed review. Full review

Aegismax Wind Hard Quilt

rated 4.5 of 5 stars If you're looking for a quilt that won't break the bank and you don't expect cold temperatures (sub 40° F / 5° C ), this Aegismax Wind Hard quilt is an excellent choice. TEMPERATURE RATING The Aegismax Wind Hard quilt has been in my sights for awhile. I finally picked one up and was able to get out on a multi-day backpacking trip in some perfect weather to put this quilt to the test. The company rates the quilt at 0° - 5° Celsius (32° - 41° F) and my personal experience matches this assessment… Full review

Enlightened Equipment Revelation APEX

rated 4 of 5 stars Revelation APEX 20 and 40 degree Fahrenheit quilts. 40-degree quilt: Good winter top layer so far. 20-degree quilt: F.O.B. (fresh out of box), but looking forward to using it soon. Background The Revelation APEX is Enlightened Equipment's Revelation quilt that uses CLIMASHIELD APEX synthetic insulation, instead of down. The Revelation APEX was previously branded by EE as the Prodigy. Other Trailspace members have written reviews about both the Revelation down quilt and the Prodigy that I suggest… Full review

Enlightened Equipment Revelation

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Versatile, well made, warm and light. Comfortable in the desert and in the High Sierra. This quilt delivers—great for long distance backpackers/bike touring. Overall I loved this bag-alternative. I was very concerned with 1) lowering the base weight of my pack and 2) staying warm at night. These bags are custom made, so here are my specs: Down Fill: 950, Down Treatment: DownTek Water-Repellent Down Temperature: 10°F (-12°C) Length: Regular - 6', Width: Regular - 54" Warmth - It's warm! (I am… Full review

Enlightened Equipment Revelation

rated 5 of 5 stars Lightweight, affordable comfort for the UL backpacking dude or dudette! Reaffirming what has been said before. The Revelation is a great lightweight quilt for three-season backpacking. This 20-degree version is warm enough for summer cooler temperature at altitude. I don't mess with the supplied straps and I like how small this packs down. For the price, I believe it's a good value for three-season overnights. Used it for eight nights to section hike the JMT in Yosemite.  Full review

Enlightened Equipment Revelation

rated 1.5 of 5 stars Bad customer service and policy. I hiked the PCT 2017. I had this 0-degree bag and I was freezing at night and I did strap it correctly. I came to the conclusion that the seller I called sold me a quilt too small for me. So I called them back after three weeks on trail. They told me their policy is only 40 days and I passed it (compared to a year for all other major sleeping bag companies). They didn't want to help me at all and preferred to let me freeze than exchange it for a bigger one or give… Full review

Therm-a-Rest Vela HD Quilt

rated 5 of 5 stars Very good quilt. I use it with an underquilt in my hammock. I have always purchased Cascade Designs (which Therm-a-Rest is a part of) products whenever I can because of the excellent customer service and excellent products. They won't be the cheapest product around, but I have an MSR WhispeLite stove, BaseCamp pad, Platypus GravityWorks water filter, and now a Vela HD quilt. When I first got the quilt I was afraid that I had made a mistake. It appeared much too light and thin to possibly be warm. Full review

Loco Libre Gear Ghost Pepper 40°

rated 5 of 5 stars Loco Libre Gear is a cottage manufacturer of down quilts. They have a few styles of top and under quilts that can be optioned for both style (color) and function when ordering. Buyers should check the lead time before ordering as this is a small company and times can be up to 14 weeks. The Ghost Pepper Topquilt features chevrons instead of straight baffles on the hypothesis that this will limit migration of the down insulation into clumps. In the six months I have had two quilts both seem to have… Full review

Loco Libre Gear Carolina Reaper 30°

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a custom down hammock underquilt by Loco Libre, a small cottage manufacturer. All quilts are custom designed and handmade in the U.S. I had this underquilt made custom for my needs. It is a 30° F quilt that is 54" long and 44" wide. I had it filled with 900 fp Downtek goose down and an extra oz. added for a total of 13 ounces of fill and approximately 2.5" of loft. It has draft collars on both foot and head ends and all necessary hardware and adjustable shock cords to easily attach it to… Full review
