Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket - Men's
The Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket — warmer than…

The Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket — warmer than Luke Skywalker sleeping in tauntaun guts (but without the smell).
- Great loft and high quality down
- Super warm and comfortable to wear
- Down can shift in baffles, but only a minor negative
I bought my Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket as I was moving from the UK to Minnesota in the US. I balked at the price but I don't regret it for a second as the first winter I moved over we were getting temps of -22°C. Even with a thin fleece on underneath this kept me plenty warm.
The fit is good. I have long arms and the sleeves are great. It is also tapered in the back to cover your butt which is nice.
The Pertex outer shell is great as it makes the snow slide off and sheds minor precipitation, protecting all that lovely cushy down inside. Also protects against baby vomit and pureed food, which I really didn't want to have to test, but, it does wipe off easy.
I found myself just wearing this jacket as I can only imagine living in a cloud is like.
Velcro cuffs, waist drawcord, and adjustable hood all help to keep you snugger than a Joey in his mommy pouch. It also has two handwarmer pockets and an inside pocket that I keep my stuff sack in.
All in all it does what is says on the tin. Keeps you warm.
Warm, puffy jacket from the other side of the pond.

Warm, puffy jacket from the other side of the pond. Backwards zipper, highly durable and water-almostproof. Very packable.
- Sized to fit on top
I just got this jacket on Geartrade. Great "piece of kit" (British) that I think will serve me for a while.
I noticed three things when I put it on: It was warm, it was nearly waterproof (think softshell), and my wife looked at me funny. I am 5'9", 205 lbs and I bought a large. I like getting things a little big, and this was a little big.
It is meant for ice climbing, when you have to sit and belay while they throw snow flurries down on you. Put it on the outside of your harness, outside of your shell, and it will keep you toasty warm. It is cut large, but not boxy. I have bought other Rab gear, but returned it size M because it was cut too small for me.
I find it to be very warm and windproof, riding on my scooter at 34 degrees I thought it was warm outside. This is my first jacket that I cannot wear around the house. Yes, it breathes, but I just don't like being that warm. I have a MH Monkey Jacket, and an Arc'teryx Atom SV and I can wear those around the house, even cleaning or doing other domesticated things. The Neutrino is too warm. I really like this jacket. Oh, and, it packs down pretty small. The L packs to about 4x7 in the included stuff sack.
The only funny thing about this jacket is the zipper. The English drive on the other side of the road, and so do their zippers. Also, the zipper is waterproof and two-way. This is great for versatility, ventilation &c but if you are zipper-challenged you may get frustrated. I haven't gotten frustrated at all but I do have to think about the zipper every time I zip it up. Not a big deal.
Durable and waterproof: I have not taken this climbing, rather, only scraped the jacket on walls and door jams. Not a thread pulled. Waterproof—it's not really waterproof. I held the arm under the faucet for a good 10s, no penetration. So...just pretend it's waterproof.

Really nice jacket with great reviews all across the internet!
- Very lightweight
- None so far
I just got this jacket and have yet to test it out in the cold. I'm 6' 165 and ordered a large and it fits great with room for some layers if needed. Great for my frame. Glad I ordered a size up. Will update review later this winter!
Used skiing in snowy 8 degree weather so far with only two layers beneath a Patagonia base layer and a medium weight fleece and I usually have to keep it unzipped a little. Very happy with the jacket. It's very comfortable and keeps me warm!
