User Review: Rab Men's Vapour-Rise Lite Jacket

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new

Summary

True multi-use piece. Pertex fabric is light years ahead.

Pros

  • Full coverage windproff
  • Really does breathe
  • Fit

Cons

  • Thumb loops a little bulky when rock climbing

The ultimate multi-use layer. Tough enough as a windshell for rock climbing. Warm enough as a shell over a base-layer for approaching ice and alpine routes or slogging up boot tracks for backcountry skiing and riding.

Great road cycling shell. While not a cycling specific piece, it works great for very cold mtb rides or for cold windy road biking. If there was a cycling specific version with jersey pockets I would get it.

Layers great over light to heavy baselayers. Any other layer slips easily over the shell fabric. Add just a little bit of warmth. The one chest pocket holds a snack, cell phone, headlamp, etc with ease.
