User Review: Scarpa Alp
Rating: ![]()
Materials: Leather Semi-stiffened
Use: All year round backpacking and winter mountaineering.
Break-in Period: None noticeable
Weight: Under 2 kg.
Price Paid: £140
Very comfortable and light compared to my Scarpa Comici's which were nearly 20 years old and into their 4th sole before they gave up the ghost. If only boots could talk they would have a few epics to tell ! I spent a lot of time researching this choice as my feet are not a regular shape ! They take my articulated crampons no problem although I think they might be a bit flexible for step-ins. Good all-round walking, hiking, scrambling and even a bit of rock climbing on Etive Slabs in Glen Coe - no problems. A very nice looking leather boot with the M4 Vibram sole. RECOMMENDED.
