User Review: Scarpa Cadore GTX
Use: medium backpacking 40lb. pack
Break-in Period: about 10mi. in Adirondacks
Price Paid: $160
These boots fit great from the ankle down. Even without a break-in my first hike left me without blisters. The problem is with the tongue, it won't stay put. I have tried velcro, and frequent readjustment, but I just can't keep the things from falling down the side of my foot. It seems that about everyone here has had the same problem, so it seems to be a design flaw. When the tongue is at the side, the comfort ranges form no pain to great pain, it just varies for some reason. If find these boots at a great discount and you try them enough to tell if you don't mind the tongue then get them they feel great on the feet, otherwise I'd pick the SL's. I am going to try to exchange mine for some SL's if Scarpa will cooperate.
