Scarpa Moraine Mid GTX - Men's
Comfortable straight out of the box, great for fastpacking…
Source: bought it new

Comfortable straight out of the box, great for fastpacking or ultralight hiking on tracks and trails or just wearing down the street. This is a very light boot that offers some ankle support for those that aren't willing to wear trail runners. Not so great cross country.
- Comfortable, no break in required
- Overall durability
- Limited ankle support
- Eyelet durability
I generally wear a size 13US and these are spot on. I bought these largely because I was after a comfortable light hiker that could be worn out of the box, for day walks and overnight walks where pack loads were light. This boot has excelled in this role for the past 5 years or so. They are so comfortable I often wear them casually.
A few points to note. They do not perform well off track. The padding and sole are not designed to support the feet and ankle on rough undulating terrain, and the grip is not adequate in wet grass and mud. It can be done. They're just not the best boot if this kind of hiking is what you have in mind.
They are still reasonably waterproof, though sustained soaking and in rain, puddles, etc will see them eventually leak. Though in my experience this is the case with most hiking boots after a time. In hot weather they tend to be a little warm—due to the padding and GTX.
Durability has been good overall. The only issue I had was a single eyelet popping out after a couple of years, which I had mended. No problems since.
If I needed to replace the pair I have I would consider purchasing again.
