The first time you try these on, they say "We're going to take care of your feet." By the second week, they also say, "We're going to carress your feet." Very supportive and comfortable on my narrow, low-volume feet. Great foot bed. Fit is a little big (I bought 1 full size smaller than the Scarpa SLs I was also looking at). Very stable and secure.
Broke in after 2 weeks of walking at lunchtime and a couple of short hikes.
Have only seen them in REI's online catalog, and now they're gone from there. I saw a several pair on clearance at REI (probably returned because they were to big) and grabbed a pair.
A little warm because of the gore-tex but nothing you notice when you're sweating on the trail. Can't vouch for waterproofness. Will have to wait for rainy season here in Ca..
