User Review: Scarpa SL
Rating: ![]()
Materials: leather
Use: rough trail w/ heavy pack
Break-in Period: 3 weeks on and off light walking
Weight: 1.4 kg
Price Paid: $AUD 300
Solid and very waterproof, this boot has (almost) made long and steep hill climbs easy.
The lacing system makes the boot very solid around your foot and doesn't concentrate the force of the lacing onto your ankle. Particularly, the hook holding the tongue in place adds a great deal of comfort. Almost never does the need arise to stop and adjust the boot.
I once had a slight sprain to my foot in the middle of a long hike (sustained when I ran into surf and fell -- duh) and was able to carry on with only slight discomfort by lacing my SL's up tight. Great support. I've had mine for four years now and they're going strong.
Strongly recommended.
