Opedix BLADE-Tec 2.0 V-Neck Shirt

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Opedix crosses medical technology with sports in this shirt. Compression and tension are featured to improve performance, spinal alignment, and reduce pain. Opedix has taken the philosophy of Kinetic alignment from their already popular shorts and tights and moved it to the upper body with their Blade-Tech 2.0 shirt. By employing a variety of panels emanating from the center of the back and fanning outward the shirt both compresses and provides tension to aid in muscular alignment. By providing… Full review

Patagonia Long-Sleeved Fezzman Shirt

rated 5 of 5 stars The best work/hike button-down shirt that I've owned, hands down. Out of the countless button-down shirts I've owned, I've never been more happy than with the Patagonia Fezzman. I'm actually wearing the first one I bought as I type this review, and although a nice button-down shirt might not be the most "outdoorsy" of pieces of gear, I think this versatile shirt deserves a review. What amazes me the most is that I bought my first Fezzman probably in 2009, and after seven years of wearing for work,… Full review

Marmot Alpinist Half Zip

rated 4 of 5 stars Good fit, small pocket. I just received my (medium) Alpinist Half Zip so this will be on fit. I'm 5'10" 160lbs. 15 1/2" neck. First, like another reviewer stated, the pocket is small. I can barely fit my Kyocera Brigadier phone, so I will be using it for snacks and power gels for hiking. The arm length covers my knuckles perfectly when using the thumb holes. Good fit around neck. Took my dog for a 10 minute walk with a T-shirt underneath. It is 38 degrees with 7-10 mph wind. I felt the cold on my… Full review

Patagonia Men's R1 Hoody

rated 4 of 5 stars The R1 Hoody works better as a base-layer than a mid-layer. It has a good combination of warmth and ventilation. Polygiene odor control really works. Touted as a mid-layer, I found the Patagonia R1 Hoody to work much better for me as a first layer or strictly worn by itself. The Polartec Power grid fabric that provides both the hoody's warmth and ventilation also makes it difficult to put on over a first layer. The waffle patterned fabric would get hung up on my t-shirt regardless of the t-shirts… Full review

Trew Women's NuYarn Wool Pocket T

rated 5 of 5 stars The Trew Superlight NuYarn Wool Pocket T is an exemplary garment for layering or as a stand-alone summer T-shirt. It is one of the most comfortable and functional garments that I have ever worn. I am impressed by its continuous-wear abilities, which meet merino wool class performance, and may even exceed certain standards given the shirt’s lightweight and quick drying properties. The only problem it suffered from is some pilling in high-abrasion areas, which is common to merino wool fabrics. On… Full review

Patagonia Men's R1 Hoody

rated 3 of 5 stars Great looking and delivers the goods when active, but has limited applications. Like most everyone here I try to do as much research as I can before spending a few bucks on a technical piece of gear. I did that with the Pat. R1 and kept reading about how it's a "favorite" and serves a lot of functions. Unfortunately, my experience has been different. It still comes along with me on most trips, but I think I could have spent my money better. The R1 is very well made. The fit is right on the money… Full review

WoolPro Skylark Ultralight Crew

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Comfortable and versatile this 100% Merino wool shirt functions as a cooling shirt when wet, yet warms when dry, and also makes a nice base layer under a rain jacket or other outerwear. Cooling function works best for those who sweat a bit to begin with, as otherwise it will probably warm you up instead. Form fitting comfort without restriction, perfect for exploring Baxter State Park. I was a bit hesitant when offered the chance to test this shirt because the idea of wearing wool in summer seemed… Full review

Patagonia Tropic Comfort Hoody II

rated 4 of 5 stars My new favorite summer hiking shirt, the Tropic Comfort Hoody II blocks the sun, dries fast, and packs small. Great for any activity where the sun is your enemy. Fit & Comfort The Tropic Comfort Hoody II (TCH from here on) is extremely comfortable. The fine polyester knit is soft and feels great. The fit is very relaxed, so it will not fit like Patagonia's baselayers — size down for a close-to-skin fit. The hood is also generous, but not huge or billowy, and fits over a ball cap for full sun… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Ensenada Sun Hoody

rated 3 of 5 stars This comfortable pullover is a great sun protection alternative for anyone who is outside enjoying summertime, whether in the bay or just out to play! The top layer provides good sun protection, paying specific attention to one’s hands and neck. You don’t need a sunburn to get your ‘D-Levels’ up!!! The Ensenada Sun Hoody shirt is best suited for daytime use, in front-country applications like running, boating, beach use, or day hiking. In addition, this shirt is ideal for people who do not… Full review
