RailRiders Men's Adventure Top

rated 5 of 5 stars Best fishing shirt on the market. Can't wait to hike in it. Recommended for any activity that calls for a breathable, lightweight top. Breathability is unrivaled. Never worn anything like it. Simplicity of this shirt is great. Love the pullover — less buttons, more performance, and a pocket just in case.  Very well made. I put it through the ringer and it came out unscathed.  Best choice for me while I was saltwater fly-fishing in Mexico on the Pacific Coast. Hiking in it should be awesome. Full review

Columbia Windward II Overshirt

rated 5 of 5 stars I bought this shirt two years ago and I wear it constantly in the fall and winter. It can be a mid-layer or work as a jacket. It has a fleece(like) lining which is extremely comfortable. Plus you can't beat flannel. See the summary above. I just think it's really comfortable and it gets the job done (keeping me warm). Marmot Women's Rocklin Half Zip

rated 5 of 5 stars Great pullover. I bought this only because it was on the 60% off rack at my favorite outdoor sports store. A week later I was wearing it on a weekend overnight trip to Big South Spoon and I was shocked at how lightweight and warm it turned out to be. I hiked two days with a thin base layer under in 35 degree temps and was warm. I've worn it a few more times on overnights and it's just an awesome pullover to have. This thing is lightweight and warm. This has become my go-to cold weather gear. My… Full review

RailRiders Men's Adventure Top

rated 5 of 5 stars Lightest, best breathing hiking shirt. A must for long adventures. Here is a quick bullet point summarization of why I love this shirt so this doesn't get too long: Ultra lightweight and thin. You can wear these on a 100-degree day and you'd be much cooler than if you were wearing a cotton T-Shirt. Underarm and back vents make this thing like wearing air. Plus, then you don't have to coat yourself in sunscreen which is nice on longer treks. They dry in 5-10 minutes and will stay dry unless your… Full review

Patagonia Men's Better Sweater 1/4-Zip

rated 5 of 5 stars So warm, on most days you won't need a jacket. Because I live in Northern California, on most days the temps don't get below 40 degrees (f) even in the winter. So, on a cold day, my choice has been either a thick jacket that had me sweating if I did any kind of hiking or climbing or a long sleeve tee that wasn't warm enough. The Better Sweater is thick, which means it's warm and durable. I don't worry about wearing a hole in the elbows and I don't need a jacket. Because it's fleece, it's pretty… Full review

RailRiders Backcounty Micro Fleece

rated 5 of 5 stars I wear a lot of fleece. This is my current favorite, over the fleeces I own by Patagonia, L.L. Bean, Columbia, North Face, OR, and even the old RailRiders fleece. I had four different versions of the Old RailRiders micrefleece top. It was a great piece, so I was really sad when it got discontinued a few years ago. Luckily, they brought it back in a total redesign and the Backcountry Micro Fleece was the result. I got one, wore it for a week straight, and loved it so much I ordered a second one so… Full review

Asics FujiTrail Hoodie

rated 5 of 5 stars Great mid layer for high aerobic activities. Great coverage and comfort, for the times that a fleece is too much, but a base layer alone is too little. The Asics Fuji Trail Hoodie, or Asics Fuji Hoody as they seem to call it in Europe, is a great mid layer. I often run hot and find no need for many of the otherwise very nice grid layers on the market, until it is around -10˚C.  This hoody seems to fall between a thick base layer and a thin fleece. So perfect for running or otherwise high aerobic… Full review

Stoic Merino Comp Shirt - Long Sleeve

rated 4 of 5 stars The Stoic Merino Comp Shirt is a comfortable shirt that wicks moisture extremely well. It keeps you warm or cool as needed. The fabric has the right amount of stretch, and it's machine washable. This has been my go-to shirt for snowshoeing over the past three winters. With a silkweight base layer underneath it and a wind and rain shell on top I'm comfortable snowshoeing in temps around -10°F because my sweat isn't making me cold. Wearing just this shirt while out hiking around a cedar swamp with… Full review

Icebreaker Sonic Short Sleeve Crewe

rated 4 of 5 stars Lightweight merino wool. Soft, comfortable and no stink after days in the backcountry. The Icebreaker Sonic short sleeve shirt is soft to the touch, lightweight, and durable. There was no evidence of abrasion after wearing this shirt with a backpack for many miles. It was very breathable when exercising, I never felt like I was overheating. It dried quickly on the body and kept me comfortably warm as temperatures cooled.  The shirt is well constructed, seams are finished well, and tags perforated… Full review
