Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Short Sleeve Shirt

rated 5 of 5 stars UPF 30 protection at an affordable price. The same features as my Silver Ridge Pants, but with UPF 30 protection due to the short sleeve factor. Same true to size, same quality but also featuring two vents in the back for direct ventilation and enchanced breathability. The fabric is a little more "3D", so to speak, mesh weave in comparison to the SR pants that aids in not stick-to-your-skin feeling when sweaty. If you want the UPF 50 protection you should stick to the long-sleeve version. Toad&Co Ventilair Short Sleeve Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars Bluesign fabric keeps you cool and moisture free. UV protection makes this a dual function shirt. As an outdoor enthusiast who likes to combine travel and hiking or backpacking, I am always on the lookout for dual function clothing. The Toad&Co Ventilair Short Sleeve Shirt is perfect for this purpose. The shirt is manufactured from "Bluesign" approved fabric that Toad&Co call Suncool. Combining organic cotton to pull the moisture from the body with heat reflecting hydrophobic polyester… Full review

Dr.Cool Short Sleeve Cooling Shirt

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Innovative material cools the user without chemicals. Moisture-wicking, circulation, and evaporation reduce the shirt's surface temperature as much as 30%. In a world filled with technology, I am always amazed when I come across a new technology that offers outdoor enthusiasts something new. The Dr. Cool Cooling Shirt is one of those products. While I have seen and tested other cooling shirts they all accomplished the feat using chemicals, what sets Dr.Cool apart from the crowd is they use Coolcores… Full review

Craghoppers NosiLife Prospect Long-Sleeved Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars Permanent Insect Shield sets this shirt apart from the crowd. Anti-bacterial, moisture control, and solar shield make for a very versatile shirt. This Craghoppers Prospect long sleeve shirt with NosiLife insect control has provided me with a lot insect-free days on the trail and during travels. It's made from 100% Polyamide (nylon) with the synthetic pyrethroid treated yarn. For those that like a scientific explanation "Synthetic pyrethroids are synthesized derivatives of naturally occurring pyrethrins,… Full review

MPG Elite Seamless T-Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars Odor control is the name of game with this Polygiene tee shirt. Nice fit, good ventilation, plus an interesting knit make this tee shirt stand out from the crowd. While planning my latest backpacking trip, a section hike on the Pacific Crest Trail, I realized that I had worn out my previous odor control tee shirt. Since I would be hiking with my wife for 16 days, being a smell mess was not going to work. A quick internet search brought me to the MPG Sport website. While I was not familiar with this… Full review

The North Face Men's Reactor Hoodie

rated 4.5 of 5 stars One shirt to rule them all! After seeing rangers and guides on Mt. Rainier wearing lightweight hoodies to protect themselves from the sun I decided to find one so I could wear less sunscreen. Sunscreen collects dust and becomes a stinky mess after a day on the trail. Plus, my daughter and girlfriends all universally hated my Lawrence of Arabia handkerchief-under-the-hat look: My old hoodless shirt to was snagged, stinky, stretched out to size XL and stained. You know it is bad when you smell YOURSELF. Full review

Sierra Designs Long Sleeve Pack Polo

rated 3 of 5 stars This is a really well-designed shirt that could be great with tweaks to the fabric and sizing. I bought this shirt hoping that it would be my go-to shirt for backpacking. Unfortunately, the sizing is simply too small, and the fabric is not all that comfortable. Fit & Comfort:  Sierra Designs products run really small, I guess. The size chart says 34-37" in the chest for a small, and they really mean it. I normally wear a 37" or 38", and this shirt fits snugly around my chest. The really constricting… Full review

Rab Men's Interval Long Sleeve Zip Tee

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a lightweight, versatile baselayer that offers good sun protection and will stand up to days of nonstop use and abuse on the trail. If you like the colors, it is worth considering. I was looking for a shirt to wear for a 12-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. Since the conditions are sunny at high altitude, not the greatest for my fair skin and family history of skin cancer, I was looking for something with a good SPF rating, light enough to handle the heat, and an anti-bacterial treatment… Full review

Mountain Equipment Men's Eclipse Hooded Zip Tee

rated 5 of 5 stars Best fleece ever made for winter climbing. I had to get this fleece after using my fried's on a on a climbing trip. The fleece has a snug athletic fit. The fabric transports sweat away from the body well. After using it on several trips I am impressed with it. The hood is thin, but adds the needed warmth to the neck when the chilling wind tortures you while belaying. The hood feels OK under a climbing helmet and follows the head nice.  Full review
