User Review: Sierra Designs Moonlight (X-Long)

Rating: ![]()
Design: mummy
Fill: 775 fill down
Temperature Rating: 30 F
Weight: 1lb 9oz
Price Paid: $279
I initially had to return the regular size bag (which was supposed to fit persons up to 6'0") as it did not accomodate my 5'10" frame. The X-Long model was a perfect fit and has been a godsend. There is no zipper, thus the low weight, so you have to slide in , but the "flex" design allows me to roll around, bend my legs and sleep in all the odd positions that I enjoy. I slept comfortably in 50 dgree nights in the Huachuca mountains and stayed toasty warm into the mid 30s in the Sierra Nevadas. If you are a warm sleeper, which I am, you may need to throw an arm out every once in awhile, but again, the "flex" design accomodates this. The pricetag is what I've come to expect for quality gear, and the low weight is a definite incentive.
