User Review: Sierra Designs Stretch Dome Expedition
Rating: ![]()
Design: 4 season Expedition dome
Sleeps: 3
Ease of Setup: Incredibly easy
Weight: 7.something pounds
Price Paid: $730 CDN
This is by far the best tent I've owned and even encountered. I've camped beside many other big name brands like North Face, Jack Wolfskin, etc. and no other even came close. Like all the other reviews on the SD said, this tent is indestructible. Since I made my investment in this tent I haven't used the tie down once and have woken up to pretty strong winds without the tent moving the slightest bit. Since the pole system does not have to slide through sleeves, it makes it incredibly easy and quick to set up in any weather. The extra $120 CDN I spent for the Expedition version was more than worth it. The extra door and larger vestibule makes quite a difference. I've never tried to fit three people in this tent but for two people plus gear it's very roomy. This is definitely a long term investment.
