Sierra Designs Studio 3
The Studio 3 from Sierra Designs is a one-door, one-vestibule, fully-freestanding, three-season tent that promises maximum livable space at an ultralight weight (3 lbs 8 oz / 1.59 kg minimum).
“We designed the Studio differently than other fin-style tents, because we weren’t willing to sacrifice comfort to save a few ounces,” says Casey Sumnicht, equipment product manager for Sierra Designs.
The Studio 3 features 38.8 square feet of livable space, thanks to a short ridge pole at the center and footbox, a custom DAC aluminum hub with 160 degree angles and 7 degree tilt, and a nearly vertical front wall with a peak height of 42 inches.
A full coverage vestibule at the front provides 13 square feet of room for your gear, as well as room to get in and out easily. Triangulated guyout loops on the side help with venting and to prevent wind flap.
If you want to go smaller, the Studio 2 has 28.1 square feet of floor area and 40 inches of peak height at a minimum weight of 2 lbs 11 oz.
