User Review: Sierra Designs Tiros Guide
Rating: ![]()
Design: 4 season rectangular dome
Sleeps: 2-3
Ease of Setup: About 5 minutes: Quite easy -- tent can be staked out before puting poles on: a big advantage in high winds
Weight: Just under 9 lbs, with everything
Price Paid: About $600 Cdn.
After shopping around a lot for a bomb-proof four-season tent, this was the clear winner. It's rock-solid in high winds, well ventilated (nice vents in large vestibule), and is very roomy for 2 -- but will also fit 3 if need be. It's an extremely pleasant space to be in, no matter what the weather, and the color scheme is very soothing and cheerful. Once I seam-sealed it well, it's as dry as an ark in heavy rain, with little or no condensation problems. For anyone looking for a great 2-3 person, 4-season backpacking/mountaineering tent made by a company who stands behind their gear, this is your tent.
