Equinox Mt. Hood

rated 5 of 5 stars The most comfortable pad I've ever used. The first time I layed down on the Mt. Hood pad from Equinox, I loved it. It is the most comfortable pad I've ever used. I am comparing it to other closed-cell foam pads like Ridgerest (which I had for 20 years), and a no-name pad I got on Ebay. The roll strap that Equinox supplies is of very high-quality and heavy duty, like the pad itself. While the pad is only 20" wide, I have not found this to be a problem at all. It is 72" long, weighs 10 oz. and is… Full review

Freeland Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad

rated 4 of 5 stars As comfy as a self-inflating sleeping pad will get! This self-inflating sleeping pad is still a good pad for its price. It is firm and comfortable. Size is good to me (I'm 6'2").  Well, the pad is somewhat bulky, but still a very good support. It is self-inflating to a point, and I still need to finish inflating manually for the first time use. It takes a few minutes to fill up with air.   The pad allows me to link two pads together. This mat can fold into small package and i suggest taking… Full review

Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe

rated 5 of 5 stars Didn't think side sleeping on a air pad comfortably was possible. This pad changed my mind. Couldn't be happier! As a Ranger with TheDyrt, I often get the opportunity to try out different products. When I found out that I was able to test out this sleeping pad I couldn't get my hands on it fast enough. I love camping, but often have trouble sleeping exactly how I want to. I'm a classic side sleeper and rarely get the opportunity to do so comfortably while in the backcountry. After reading that side… Full review

Exped SynMat UL 7

rated 5 of 5 stars Warm and quiet. Gives a good night's sleep. Have used this for a number of years now and will be replacing my current one with a newer one (wider model, at 65cm rather than 52). I have looked at many alternatives and tried a few in shops. For a lightweight and warm mat this is quiet (I am surprised at someone describing it below as noisy, not my experience at all). I am a light sleeper but this mat has never given me cause to curse! In comparison I tried a Sea to Summit mat as the specs looked… Full review

Quechua Forclaz A100

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Lightweight and extremely affordable self-inflating sleeping mat (¾ length). Good addition to traditional closed-cell foam pad in temperatures below freezing. Also can be used for ultralight applications or for children. I purchased three of these self-inflating mats specifically for winter use by my entire family. Here are some specs: Weight — 450 g (1 lb) Dimensions — 117×50×2 cm (46×20×¾ in)   Folded size  Ø25×13cm / 3.3L (Ø10×5 in) The manufacturer's promo video: With available… Full review

Klymit Insulated Static V

rated 5 of 5 stars Everything they said it was. Tough, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Just bought this from Costco at a discount (expires 7/2/17), based on positive reviews on Trailspace.  I've only tested it at home and on concrete surfaces, but so far it's completely lived up to the positive reviews on Trailspace. Once I figured out that valve, it was easy-peasy. As a side sleeper, and an older person with a problem in one hip joint, I expected to do the usual tossing and turning on camping pads I've done… Full review

Klymit Static V2

rated 4 of 5 stars Comfortable lightweight sleeping pad at an affordable price. Bought this pad as a replacement for a self-inflating one. I had to get something that packs smaller. It's pretty comfortable, made well, and I find it to be a better value than other brands. The Static V2 is very easy to inflate, taking only a few breaths to get it at a comfortable level, though the baffle design makes it a bit tricky to deflate. The baffles themselves are comfortable and don't make it feel like you are sleeping on a… Full review

NEMO Tensor 25L

rated 5 of 5 stars Comfortable, durable, lightweight, and quiet. Packs up quite small. The Nemo Tensor 25L is quite convenient for camping or even just to bring to a friend's house. It can be inflated with a hair drier or anything else you can get in the quick release valve (though make sure you don't have the hair drier on a high heat mode). Blowing it up can be a bit of a chore, but worth it overall. Comes with its own repair kit, and although I haven't needed it yet I am glad to have it. It's about 2" thick when… Full review

Sea to Summit Comfort Light Insulated Mat

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Comfortable, easy to inflate and pack, reasonably durable. Packs similar to the Ultralight Insulated, but is more comfortable to sleep on. Noisy, narrow, feels like arms are going to drop off the sides when not using sleeping bag. It was tough choosing between the Comfort Plus Insulated, Comfort Light Insulated, and Ultralight Insulated sleeping mats. Ultimately I chose the Comfort Light Insulated as it seemed like the best tradeoff between comfort, weight, and warmth. Ease of Use: Super easy to… Full review
