Sea to Summit UltraLight Insulated Mat

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Lightweight comfy pad, gives a great night's sleep. I was intrigued by Sea to Summit's new line of sleeping pads, so when the REI dividend and coupon came out, I decided to give it a try. The first thing I notice was how small the packed size was. I'm always trying to put less bulk in my back, so this is good news for me. I was taken by the pad's interesting new valve design. There are essentially two "plugs" in one. You open the outer plug to inflate, and both plugs to deflate. I find that it takes… Full review

Klymit Insulated Static V

rated 4 of 5 stars Very light and packable full length pad, comfortable. For the size and weight of this pad, it's hard to beat. Packs compact and light. Not self-inflating, takes about 10-12 breaths of air but inflates surprisingly quickly. Very comfortable and warm; I've used this down to -15° Celsius.  I'm 6'1" 195 lbs, no issues bottoming out, and the v-shaped air cells keep me from sliding around. As others have said, it is difficult to get all the air out when rolling it up to put back in the stuff sack. Full review

Therm-a-Rest Men's Trail Lite

rated 4 of 5 stars At 1lb 11oz, it's not the lightest but does a fine job for 3-seasons. I've been using the Trail Lite for two years now and I've always been pleased with it. Knowing there are new pads out there that offer more loft, higher R-value, and lighter weight, my curiosity has been piqued but for now, the Trail lite is what I know. I would say that overall this pad has always served me well and has lived up to my expectations of it.The bag inflates to approximately 1 1/4" thick. Not a great amount of loft… Full review

Klymit Static V

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Light weight in a small package. Great for thru hikers or weight conscious fair-weather campers. Bang for buck on this lightweight, packable mattress is spot on. If it came down to just that it would have higher stars from me. We decided to purchase a loot of Klymit Static V pads as rental gear for the gear shop I work at. We KNOW they are durable, which is why we purchased them. They've got a super burly 75D poly outer so the life time of these mats is great. Over two years of use from multiple… Full review

NEMO Astro Air Lite

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I've used this once in a situation that would test the lower limits of its comfort range. It worked very well. I had a couple of issues, but I expected these because I was trying to make it fail. So here's what I did, I set up my tarp in an A-frame position. The lowest end (angled 3/4 into the wind) a foot off the ground, the other end 2 1/2 feet high. The four corners staked touching the ground. A Space-All Weather Blanket (shiny side up) under the Astro Air Lite and me in an old North Face Wasatch… Full review

Exped Schnozzel

Big Agnes Air Core SL

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A very nice three-season pad. Packs down to the size of a large water bottle. I have both the long rectangle and the mummy. Not self inflating so it takes some effort to fill. The packed size is amazingly small. Comes with a repair kit in end of stuff sack. A bit slippery when fully inflated. Full review

Exped Synmat WinterLite

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This Synmat Winterlite WL is excellent. Is does not ''mummy taper" as aggressively as others, so Lside-back-Rside rolling is not going to worm you off at night. NOR do the side baffles collapse, in fact they taper convexly to keep you in. R value is INTELLIGENT in design as the mat does not conduct cold air due to the complete insulation perimeter. Read Ashleigh's review: it's an excellent assessment. Ashleigh does an INCREDIBLY USEFUL review because of the factors she includes: sleeping, handling… Full review

Exped Synmat WinterLite

rated 4 of 5 stars We all know that winter camping gear can really weigh our packs down. Exped thinks your winter sleeping pad shouldn’t have to! This spring, they are releasing the lightest 4-season pad available, the 13.9 ounce SynMat WinterLite. It boasts a 4.9 R-value that will keep you warm to 1 degree F. In addition to keeping you super warm, its extra-wide vertical baffles are a lofty 3.5 inches thick to keep your body away from the cold ground. Best For: The Exped SynMat WinterLite is best for those who… Full review
