Big Agnes Q-Core SL

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a very good pad. Comfortable and fairly warm too. Started using it at basecamp tenting for over a month in France and Turkey. Held up well for at least a year or so before developing flex fatigue holes between the inflation piece and the fabric.  (I am rough on gear, leaving it in my car in summer heat etc.) This probably had some to do with the heat as well loosening the fabric at the spot. The supplied patch glue had long since melted in the heat so I just used some JB Weld that was handy… Full review

Therm-a-Rest Men's ProLite 4

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent and durable pad. Slightly heavy by today's standard, but cheaper than the ultralight bunch. I've used a Prolite 4 (that's today's ProLite Plus) from 2003 to 2016. I have the 3/4 version. The most important thing about it is that it works, it really self-inflates, and it's durable. Some notes and details: a. Durability:  I always use a ground sheet or inside a tent; I never had a puncture. I had two mats; one started leaking from the valve after 10 years (needed valve replacement), the… Full review

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Venture WV

rated 5 of 5 stars A mattress that will give you a good night's rest, great addition to your gear if you're looking for an additional comfort after a long hike. It's cheap and very comfortable. Really a bang for a buck. This product offers protection from the ground e.g. damp, cold, uneven surface. Very easy to set up—you just unroll it, blow for about 10 full breaths and you have an air mattress in the wilderness. There are youtube tutorial out there where you can make a inflator if blowing it is too hard for you. Full review

Mammut Alpine Mat UL

rated 4 of 5 stars Very lightweight, relatively warm. A high quality closed cell mat.  R value only 1.2 , but relative to weight that is very high (weighs 135 grams). Packs quite small for a closed cell, and quite versatile, can be used as a seat or as a doubled up short mat (90 cm) with R value 2.4! Update 11/22/2016: After using it a few times I can see it is not very durable. Used it for a bit of yoga, lying down, all in the house. If it touches any hard edge like something on jeans or carpet it will leave a permanent… Full review

NEMO Cosmo Insulated 20R

rated 4 of 5 stars The Cosmo 20r is a great balance of comfort and weight. The integrated foot pump is probably where the weight and size come from, but it is so handy and fast. I have used other integrated pump pads and this one is the fastest, lightest, and the most comfortable I've used. Ease of Use: Everything work as it should and is one of the more efficient integrated pump pads I've seen. Features: Has a small valve on the "top" corner designed to release pressure while lying on the pad to reach optimal comfort. Full review

Exped MegaMat 10

rated 4.5 of 5 stars As good as a bed at home. Fantastic insulator in cold weather. We also use it as a guest bed at home, which helps offset the cost. We use the joiners it comes with and a queen sheet and have never had a complaint and our guests are fussy! Half a star off because it is HUGE when you are tight for space on a trip. SIDE NOTE: My kids were using it as a slide and managed to create a significant tear. Fixed at no charge by EXPED which he was great (I paid to ship it to them). Full review

ALPS Mountaineering Lightweight Series Self Inflating Air Pads

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This review is for the XL size of the air pads...bought as a bit of "giving-in" to the need for a more supportive sleeping pad. I originally thought I would use it for only car camping when we may sleep in a tent or in a wooden lean-to...however, despite its humongous size (30 x 77 x 3 ), it actually goes canoe camping with me as well! It certainly is too large for backpacking, but is a very comfortable pad, if you can manage to bring it along.  Right after unrolling it...This is rather a luxury… Full review

Cabela's Alaskan Guide Sleeping Pad

rated 4 of 5 stars It is plenty warm for 3-season camping. Very comfortable. My only real complaint is that it doesn't pack small enough to fit inside my pack. It is comfortable and warm. I found it to be most comfortable. The first night I used it I thought it was a little limp, but after a couple of nights use I found it to be very comfortable and it kept me off the cold ground. Klymit Static V

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Static V sleeping pad is excellent for people shorter than 6 feet. It is 1 pound 2 ounces, and folds down to the size of a coffee can. Best for sleepovers/overnight stays, and camping/backpacking. The Klymit Static V sleeping pad is excellent for long-term backpacking/car camping trips where space is a limiting factor. It compresses into a deflated size of about 8.5" x 4.5". You are also able to put small things like an inflatable pillow in its packaging. It is rather easy to deflate, as all… Full review
