We own three of them and have used them in the different forms from winter camping to summer. They are great for backpacking because you only have to bring what you need from 2 lbs 9 oz for summer (30 degree), 3 lbs 9 oz for fall or spring (0 degree) or combine the two for 6 lbs 2 oz for winter camping (-20 degree). They compress nicely and store nicely in most closets. The only drawback I have is I am 6-3 280 and have a 54 inch chest. It is tight sometimes. I am having a expander made from a old bag to give me 8 more inches in the chest.
