User Review: SolHuma VitalGrill Survival Stove
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $72
Just got the stove a month ago and have been using it religiously ever since, hasn't let me down yet! It's small, and very compact. I admit it's not the lightest, but that is countered by the fact I no longer have to carry fuel with me, which is win win win! Did I mention this stove is hot? It works flawlessly I'm glad I fell on this neat little stove!
- Powerful: boiled 32oz of water in less than 3 mins!
- Portable: The firebox folds into the base and with the bag its super easy to carry
- Ecofriendly: No more gas! Can make a fire with just about anything that could be found in the nature
- Solid construction
- Fun to use
- A bit heavy (1.6 lbs)
To begin with, I discovered this stove just about a month ago after a review I had read online. After a quick little research on YouTube, I was immediately amazed! Bought the VitalGrill Survival Stove directly on their website (vitalgrill(dot)com) for 72$, which is a bargain if you ask me! Other non-supercharged stoves for for around the same price. Other stoves with a similar technology go for over 129$...
Shipping took only 3-days!
Inside the box, comes the stove with (1) battery pack (2 AA batteries not included), (1) pack of firestarters, and (1) nylon carry bag that perfectly fits all of the above. It took me literally just a few seconds to get a fire started for the first time.
All I had to do was: Pull away and unfold the fire box, put batteries into power pack and connect it, light a firestarter and start the turbines! Once a flame is light you can throw in any biomass (I used twigs). Almost instantly the fire grew nice and strong.
There are two ways to control to intensity of the fire: there are two modes on the battery pack (hi/lo), and also there is a shutter on the stove where you can control the airflow. With these two tools you can pretty much cook just about anything at any heat. I boiled 32oz of water in just under 3 minutes!!! My other gas stoves would take almost 10mins :(
All-in-all, this is a solid stove (Made in Canada), very stable, very efficient and effective. Is exactly as announced +more! I definitely recommend this for all campers, hunters and survivalists!
