Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars

Use: light/medium backpacking--wet and rough trail
Break-in Period: none
Weight: 3.3lbs

I had great luck with tecnica alpine ski boots and decided to try hiking boots. Excellent choice. These boots required no break-in time. They are completely waterproof (simpatex is similar to gortex) and are very comfortable. I hiked all over the White Mts last fall into early winter and they handled any kind of terrain easily. One day I hiked six hours in wet snow and boots never leaked. They have a rubber rand around toe and heel that give extra protection. They are defintely stable for any backpacking with up to 30 to 35lb pack. I highly recommend these boots.
