Lawson Equipment Titanium Tent Stake

rated 5 of 5 stars Strong and light best describe my favorite tarp stakes. As a hammock guy knowing the tarp is secure is a great feeling. And with these titanium sheppard hooks with most Southeast soils these stakes will hold your tarp tight. These babies are tuff too, not one has been bent even with stepping on them to drive them home. Weighing in at a whopping 6.25 grams or .22 oz. each I can carry six of these and barely break an oz., and at 6.25 inches they aren't taking up noticeable space in your pack. And… Full review

MSR Carbon Core Stake Kit

rated 2 of 5 stars Too fragile. I used these stakes twice before one of them broke. Surprisingly it didn't break while driving it into the ground. I had difficulty removing the stakes from the ground, and one of them broke as I wiggled it side-to-side attempting to loosen it. The end of the stake is still in the ground in the Sierra Nevada. Grand Trunk TreeSling

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great product, easy to use and great way to set up your hammock. I had my first set only a few days. I set up my hammock and the strap ripped a bit. There was a problem in the splice, but Grand Trunk took them back and gave me a new set no questions asked. Other than that they work great. I love them. They are so easy to use. Full review

Nite Ize Figure 9 Carabiner

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The folks at Nite Ize know you're not a Boy Scout, and you're not a sailor. But sometimes you need to secure a rope to a fixed object, or a rope to another rope. Their elegant solution is the Figure 9. I'm not a salty sailor who's ridden the high seas for decades. I'm also not a Boy Scout with a sash full of knot tying merit badges. I'm just a guy who sometimes abandons my otherwise perfectly usable home for a day or three and sleeps outside in a hammock. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person… Full review

MSR Groundhog Tent Stake

rated 4.5 of 5 stars These stakes do a nice job staying secure in the ground due to the design. They are also very light and easy to remove with the attached loop of cord. They are much better than the factory stakes that come with most tents. Do yourself and your tent a favor and purchase the MSR Groundhog Tent Stakes. These stakes are very easy to secure in the ground due to the design. They seem to cling to the earth much better than your typical tent stake. The bright red color and reflective coating on the cable… Full review

MSR Mini Groundhog Stake

rated 4.5 of 5 stars For their smaller size (6”), these stakes are deceptively strong and lightweight. While a dollar more expensive than other aluminum stakes, a few of these will go a long way holding down any tent, tarp, or even recreational equipment. I have encountered no problems in the slightly sandy/red clay/compact soil of central and western N.C. I originally didn’t have any thought to review these MSR Mini Groundhog stakes as they were part of a tent I purchased. The Hubba Hubba NX comes with a pack of… Full review

Equinox Tyvek Ground Cloth

rated 5 of 5 stars My sheet of washed and edge-seamed Tyvek with strategic grommets and center flaps acts as ground cloth, rain fly, tarp, bivy, pack cover or poncho. I don't leave home without it. Cut sheet to size of required footprint plus a foot or two on door side if under a tent. Place grommets where poles and stakes would go. Cut and seam openings for head and arms. Tape (Tyvek tape) flaps over head and arm slits. Seam all edges with Tyvek Tape. (Tyvek Tape is lighter than, say, Gorilla Tape, and equally strong.)… Full review

Nite Ize CamJam Cord Tightener

rated 3.5 of 5 stars This is definitely a handy tool to have around the campsite. It clips on to about anything and allows you to tie down and tighten rope without any knots! It is quick to tighten and quick to release. The CamJam has become one of those products that I always have hooked on to my gear because I always want it with me when I'm camping. One thing that I cannot stand is having a knot tighten up too much much to where it's near impossible to get undone. Also, it's kind of frustrating when you have something… Full review

Eureka! Floor Saver Square Medium

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Very durable ground cloth for the backpacker that is going to use their tent regularly. I am impressed with the thickness of this floor saver yet how light and unnoticeable it is in my backpack. Your eyes open, you wake up to hearing the robins and the other wildlife in the forest doing their thing. It was a cold night and you're sure your gear that you left outside and your backpack are going to be soaked from the dew.  You search for your socks in the bottom of the sleeping bag and slip them… Full review
