Coghlan's Reflective Guy Line

rated 5 of 5 stars A 50' length of reflective 2mm cord which can be cut up to make guy lines or used full length as a ridge line or for a bear hang. Includes a small biner. What you see is what you get with the Coghlan's Reflective Guy Line; A 50' coil of 2mm line that has reflective threads woven in. It also comes with a small biner with a wire gate. While the label says Guy Line and it could be cut into lengths usable for that purpose, it can be used full length to hang a lightweight bear bag or as a shelter ridge… Full review

Heroclip

rated 5 of 5 stars The Heroclip is fantastic. I use it everywhere. This clip is amazing. I keep finding that odd jobs are made easier with help from a HeroClip. I have used it while camping, backpacking, biking, and around the house. Its versatility and design make this clip worth a purchase.  Full review

Heroclip

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The HeroClip is a very versatile accessory clip that can be used in a number of applications both in the outdoors and around the house. OverviewYears ago people started using climbing carabineers as accessory clips to hold keys and other various items and as time went on manufactures started coming out with accessory clips that had many similarities to climbing carabineers from a look and operation perspective, but had no real load carrying capability and were only intended to be used as low cost… Full review

Terra Nova Titanium 1g Skewer Pegs

rated 2 of 5 stars An over-specialized bit of gear that works for limited applications or hard-core ultralighters under certain conditions, but overall probably not worth the money. This is a review of the Terra Nova 1g Titanium Skewers. I am not connected to Terra Nova in any way, and I purchased the product retail. These titanium skewers come in a pack of six. They are essentially “micro stakes”—very small, thin, and ultralight titanium stakes. And while they might be good for a few specialized uses, overall… Full review

DAC J-stake

rated 5 of 5 stars The stakes of ultimate choice for most smaller tents (1-2P). They are lightweight, quite strong and durable, endure careful hammering and may be equipped with cord loops. Of course, such stakes are not designed for sandy soil and for large tents. DAC J-Stakes are blue, yellow, and silver in this photo I’ve been actively using these pegs since 2012, since four of my tents were equipped with them: MSR Hoop Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 Hilleberg Kaitum 3 Fjallraven Abisko Lite 3 I also purchased a spare… Full review

Dutchware Wasp

rated 5 of 5 stars Tarp ridgeline hardware. Tension your tarp line in no time. Very light and well designed. Dutch's customer service is excellent. The Wasp is a tarp suspension hardware item made by Dutch.  I use it with a Dutch Hook to tension the main suspension line for my hammock tarp.  They are a little pricey for a little piece of milled titanium, but they are worth it.  Full review

TentPole Technologies Replacement Tent Poles

rated 5 of 5 stars Tentpole Technologies was very helpful to me in seeking replacement poles for my old Mountain Hardwear Tri-Light 2 tent. They are a great source for hard-to-find tent poles. Tentpole Technologies seems to be a very good source for hard-to-find replacement poles. They apparently have specs for poles for many, many (all?) tent styles. Telephone access only (360-260-9527); you get right to a very knowledgeable person. 8-4 M-F Pacific Time. Unfortunately they were unable to make replacements for my… Full review

MSR ToughStake

rated 3 of 5 stars The odds strongly favor the possibility that the manufacturer of the awesome bomb-shelter tent you bought skimped on the stakes to save cost and weight. Therefore you'll be needing a few more decent ones to get the job done. Consider these if your winter trips (or sand camping I assume) tend to be in pack-able snow.  MSR Toughstake I tested these stakes along with a four-season MSR Remote 2 tent.  Regular stakes do practically NOTHING for you in snow when the wind comes. If you are in deep snow… Full review

Nite Ize Figure 9 Carabiner

rated 4 of 5 stars A tarp camper's friend. These work great for quick tarp setups. Lunch breaks in the rain, late evening campsites, you need a tarp up quick, use these. On a cold, after sundown camp setup my fingers having been in the rain all day would not have been capable of tying good knots in the dark. These little babies allowed my tired self the quick setup that I so wanted. Purists may scoff, but I have an older friend, a WW2 vet, who scoffs at modern climbing hardware. He tells tales of major climbs using… Full review
