The North Face Jester

rated 5 of 5 stars
photo: The North Face Jester daypack (under 35l)

This day pack has been reliable for the last four years. I can't think of a single negative issue I have had with it. It is an excellent day pack for hiking or travel.

Pros

  • Comfortable to carry
  • Zippers are very durable

Cons

  • Is a bit small for anything beyond a day trip
  • Water bottle holders are a bit tight.

I have used this as my go-to day pack for a number of years. At first I questioned the price but managed to find it on sale. It can carry enough gear for most day trips while being comfortable to carry.

The only negative issue I have found is that when fully packed the mesh water bottle holders are a bit tight for a 32 oz bottle. It fits nicely in an overhead storage and under a train seat.

Source: bought it new
Price Paid: Half of MSRP

I took this on a day hike to the top of Mt. Marcy and for being a small pack this works really well. The only downside was the pack was a bit to small, or I just packed to much. But all and all nice pack.

Max. Load Carried: the most I carried was around 30-35 lbs.
Height of Owner: 5' 10"
Price Paid: $50
