User Review: The North Face MG45

The North Face MG45
Above: The current MG45, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Design: top loading
Size: 3000 cu inches
Number of Pockets: 5
Max. Load Carried: 50 lbs
Height of Owner: 5'10"
Price Paid: $85

Pros:
Good quality construction. Comfortable on long hikes. Gear loops on the waist strap keep you from diggin under your coat to our harness while climbing in the snow. Ice axe loops allow you to access them with out taking the pack off. Side zippers allow lots of access to the main compartment with out unloading everything.

Cons:
The small pockets on the side are not expandable and in fact, they are unuseable once the pack is loaded because of how they stretch. I'd like to see them large enough for a Nalgene bottle. Interrior hydration pocket is great but carrying more than one liter cuts WAY down on the space that you have inside.
