The North Face Triarch 2

rated 3.0 of 5 stars
photo: The North Face Triarch 2 three-season tent

Good in some ways, but not worth the price.

Pros

  • Compact
  • Relatively lightweight
  • Designed for roomy interior

Cons

  • Too delicate for harsh weather

I use this for river kayak camping where space is at a minimum. Very compact, but still feels roomy on the inside. Lots of storage space and easy setup.

The downside is that it is very delicate. The plastic connections on the poles broke almost immediately and duct tape is just part of the kit now. The zipper needed to be replaced before long when the side blew in during a windy night. I sleep with my fingers crossed that it won't blow apart.

I live in Newfoundland, Canada, where the wind is gusty and we can get four seasons in a single day. The tent is really only good for summer because the plastic gets too brittle in the cold.
