User Review: The North Face Vostok Parka
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $198
The jacket is well made with quality products, rip stop material, and high quality down. The arms are slightly lacking in down.
- Heavy duty materials
- Waterproof breatheable
- Many well placed pockets
- Reaches below the hip
- Ventilation zips
- Not enough down in the arms
The fit is true to size — many complaints on sites about sizing of the parka being too large. It's an expedition parka meant to go over existing warmth layers, so it needs to be big. The hood is very large on a naked head, but with a hat and helmet on the hood fits perfectly.
It is somewhat adjustable, but not as much as other jackets I've owned. It has the ability to tighten up a drawstring around the waist and that is all from what I have seen.
Water resistant, breathable fabric that is also rip stop to keep down inside.
The pockets are easy to find and use, and it has inner pockets to store water bottles and other objects that you don't want to freeze.
This will be my go-to warmth jacket when something extra is needed on bigger mountains like Rainier and Denali.
