User Review: Therm-a-Rest Men's 40th Anniversary Edition

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $100

Summary

This pad is perfection. Light weight, 2 inches thick, no slip bottom, comes with stuff sack and repair kit, reasonable priced.

Pros

  • Light weight
  • Extremely comfortable
  • Tough material
  • No slip bottom
  • Comes with extras
  • Packs down small
  • THICK!!!!!

This pad is perfection. The material feels rugged and durable. It is a full 2 inches thick and still keeps its weight to about 1 pound. I purchased the 3/4 pad, which was a gamble because I've only ever owned full length pads, but there was no awkward transition to the smaller pad.

The "rubberized" bottom is great, once it's down it never moves. When I roll on my side I never "bottom out" on the tent floor, this is the first time i could describe a pad as plush it's so thick. Another bonus is the fact that it come with a stuff sack and a repair kit.

The first night I used it it was one of the first times I "passed out" on a hike just from comfort and not exhaustion. Should be the new standard for pads. Plus the old school logo and color are a nice touch.
