Therm-a-Rest Saros 20

rated 2.5 of 5 stars
photo: Therm-a-Rest Saros 20 3-season synthetic sleeping bag

I got this bag for an AT section hike. It was very comfortable at first and worked well with the Therm-a-Rest Prolite Plus. I did find it irritating that the bag was so warm that most nights I could not sleep in it zipped up.

The zip did not go all the way down to feet. Zipper broke and that was that. Backless weight saving idea not so sure about either, made it hard to use independently without the sleeping pad.

Pros

  • Warm
  • Very soft inside

Cons

  • Zipper cheap
  • Cheap stuff sack - no compression sack

I am getting a replacement sent from the company, the Capella women's bag. We will see if this one is better with the new 2015 design changes. It is 7 oz lighter with a few modified features.
