Komperdell Contour Titanal Power Lock

rated 3.5 of 5 stars These poles balance nicely between weight and strength, being sturdy without being too sturdy. Three-piece poles with flick locks lets them shrink for carry and make for fast adjustment on trail. Very functional in rugged terrain and as shelter support. Komperdell has been making a product with this name for quite a few years and made changes and improvements along the way. These poles didn't impress me when I first held them in my hands, but have survived for almost nine months of use. They are… Full review

Black Diamond Distance Z

rated 4 of 5 stars Collapsible, sturdy trekking poles. Have owned for about four years. Have always opted to backpack with poles, mainly because I like the support.  Also double as setup for my tent if I don't have the option to sink pins. I like the way they fold up for pack-ability. Seem fairly lightweight, though I haven't used any others for comparison. Hand grips are comfortable, no issues after a long day. The length is slightly adjustable depending on your height. The locking features are also strong, yet… Full review

Black Diamond Men's Trail Pro

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a sturdy trekking pole that does not slip. I've had these trekking poles for a few years and they do what they are supposed to do. I purchased these to replace a set of poles that had the plastic flicklock locking system. The earlier poles had begun to slip when I came down hard on them. I looked at these and they have the Black Diamond Flicklock Pro locking system. This is a metal locking system which really tightens the poles so that they just do not slip. Coming down a mountain they'll… Full review

Wilcor Trekking Poles

rated 5 of 5 stars Sturdy with adjustment for every condition and individual. Bought new after using a couple other brands. These are lightweight and fully adjustable. Padded wristbands. Enjoyed using them first time out. Also like the ergonomic hand grip, although I did not think I would. Recommend this product for the avid hiker or the beginner. Money well spent. Full review

Komperdell Wild Rambler

rated 4 of 5 stars In a world where trekking poles are either crap and inexpensive or quality and ridiculously overpriced, Komperdell delivers a solid, reliable trekking pole that does the job well. While the Wild Ramblers are not my favorite poles, there is a LOT to be said in favor of them, especially for a hiker on a budget. I purchased my Wild Rambler poles more than two years ago specifically for my climb of Mt. Rainier (September 2015). The Black Diamond set I was using at the time did not have an option for… Full review

Swiss Gear Hiking Pole

rated 5 of 5 stars Great trekking pole for the money! Never bought a trekking pole before. Always found a stick on the trail. Finally bought Swiss hiking poles at W-Mart. Price was low and do they work great! Full review

Fizan Compact 3

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Fizan Compact 3 trekking poles are extremely light, comparable to and even lighter than many carbon fiber poles, but these poles are high-strength lightweight aluminum. So you don't risk breaking them like carbon can, and they are very affordable. They are very strong and sturdy. This is a review of the Fizan Compact 3 trekking poles. I am not connected to Fizan in any way. These are some of the lightest trekking poles on the market, tipping my scale at 6.0 oz per pole including wrist straps. Full review

Gossamer Gear Lightrek 4

rated 5 of 5 stars Light, strong, and useful. My first pair of trekking poles lost the ability to lock—they were twist locking poles from a major manufacturer. Calling or emailing the company for help went nowhere. I couldn't find a number or email address anywhere. My second pair were the Lightrek 4s, not a casual purchase. They are expensive and don't go on sale. But, I've had them for a long time, and I'm still using them. Why use trekking poles? For one, they take 6 lbs of weight off your joints per step when… Full review

Cascade Mountain Tech Quick Lock Carbon Fiber Cork Grip Trekking Poles

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Excellent build quality and easily worth the price. I would probably say that if I had paid $75 instead of $45. They directly compare to $120+ carbon poles from Leki, Black Diamond, Komperdell, etc. If you are looking for sensibly lightweight carbon trekking poles with good cork handles that adjust easily and don't slip the CMT Quick Lock Carbon Cork poles are hard to beat. After reading many reviews all over the interwebs raving about the quality for the price of these poles I followed their lead… Full review
