User Review: Tubbs Adventure Series

Tubbs Adventure Series
Above: The current Adventure Series, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Price Paid: $105

My first hike with these snowshoes was in 15 inches of new powder. The freely rotating toe cord made moving through the deep snow easier and allowed the front crampon to really dig in on the uphills. The only downside of this system is that the tail hangs when you have to step over things. Still I got my 55 year-old body over three fences without a problem. The rear crampon is very well placed for braking on the downhills. The TD91 bindings worked well. They kept my boots in place and were easy to use, but I needed to take off my gloves to get them right when I put them on. Overall a great snowshoe for the price.
