Vasque Hiking Boots

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

Great value for the money. I have used these boots for almost 6 years. Hiked in every type of weather you can think of and these boots have kept my feet in great shape. I tried all the cheaper brands. Never again, you get your money's worth with Vasque.

Pros

  • Great ankle support
  • Lightweight
  • Great traction
  • Fits right.

Cons

  • Difficult to clean after a day on a muddy trail

I had gone through several pairs of less expensive hiking shoes from the big box stores. My feet suffered from my unwillingness to buy a good quality pair of boots. I was very hesitant to buy Vasque boots, but I had read a review about them that changed my mind. Over a two year period I had spent in excess of three hundred dollars on other brands.

I bought the Vasque for about half of this. That was over 6 years ago and they still look and feel great. I am a 10 1/2 shoe size and usually have to buy an 11 in a cheaper boot. The Vasque was a perfect fit. They felt a little stiff at the store, but first day on the trail I could feel a big difference.

They are ankle boots and have great support. The exterior is brushed leather and Goretex with a Vibram sole. They keep my feet dry, warm, and very comfortable. I have never had a blister with these shoes. Did have a problem with the back top rubbing my calf raw one time, but next time used a better hiking sock that came up over my calf and it stopped the problem.

I get them muddy and I take a hose and rinse them off. I tried to clean with a brush at first but just too difficult so I went to the garden hose, works perfect. Great traction in rain and snow.
