User Review: Vasque Talus

Vasque Talus
Above: The current Talus, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 2 of 5 stars
Materials: mostly nylon mesh uppers and Stealth rubber outsole
Use: approach shoe
Break-in Period: none
Weight: just under 2 lbs. (size 13)
Price Paid: $50 (Canadian)

Trendy looking shoe. I like the grippy Stealth rubber outsole. Wish there was more of it on the heel. The gauzy elastic strip which is meant to hold the tongue in place is laughable if you were expecting, say, a gusseted tongue. I expect it to shred in maybe a month. If you expect to be able to tie down the laces securely expect discomfort, though maybe thick socks will help to alleviate the pain. With the nylon mesh upper you might think that the shoe would breathe well. Wrong. For some reason the moisture doesn't move out of the shoe.

Comfortable enough for a trip to the grocery store, but I don't expect much out of these as approach shoes.
