Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 3.5 of 5 stars One of my new favorite backpacking meals. This was my first GTG dehydrated meal and I really enjoyed it. I tried it on a car camping trip after a day of day hiking in the Blue Ridge Mtns. Yes, you need to bring the water to a boil and yes you need to allow the full 20 minutes. But the wait was worth it. One of the best dehydrated meals I've had after hiking.   Really appreciate all the healthy ingredients and that it is not chock full of unfamiliar chemical terms. I did not find the carmelized… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 5 of 5 stars The best dehydrated meal I've tasted. Real ingredients and restaurant-quality taste make this a 5-star product. On a dayhike that included a significant morning climb, my wife and I knew we’d be hungry by mid-day so we packed this meal and a small stove and hit the trail. When the trail finally flattened out and we got around to making lunch, we were blown away by the delicious taste, especially compared to other freeze-dried and dehydrated meals we’ve had in the past. Our only regret was having… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 3 of 5 stars All natural ingredients, high protein, and high fiber ensure this meal will leave you full and satisfied on the trail. Unfortunately, mediocre re-hydration and an off flavor kept me from enjoying this meal as much as I had hoped. After trying Good To-Go's Thai Curry, I was anxiously anticipating trying this meal in the middle of a three-day, two-night outing in Shawnee National Forest.  As I mentioned in the Thai Curry review, I love the fact that the ingredients are all-natural, real food! There… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 5 of 5 stars A dehydrated pouch meal providing restaurant quality flavor? Yeah. Good To-Go Thai Curry really is that good. Believe the hype. GTG really does excel. So yes, I'll admit that almost any food tastes better on the trail (With the possible exception of Libby Beef Crumbles!), but I was not expecting Good To-Go's Thai Curry to be this fantastic. Had I not been eating out of a pouch while squatting over a camp stove, I would have believed this had come from a restaurant.  The first thing I liked about… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent flavor and easy instructions offset the long wait time. This was my personal favorite of the two Good To-Go samples I tried, but had similar hydration issues (no more than other meals of its kind). Note:  Some of the text below is similar to my review of Good To-Go’s Smoked Three Bean Chili but most of the detail is specific to this meal. I did this review to supplement Lah’s excellent review of the meal and to give another non-biased account of experience with it. No offense to other… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Coming from someone who is not a fan of packaged dinners—this was good! Easy instructions and good flavor, with only a few less hydrated/crunchy pieces. A great vegetarian alternative on the trail. I did this review to supplement Lah’s excellent review of the meal and to give another non-biased account of experience with it.  No offense to other reviewers, but several seem to be related to the company in some way.  First off, when evaluating food choices I think it is a good baseline to describe… Full review

Backpacker's Pantry Charros Beans & Rice

rated 4 of 5 stars This VERY FILLING dinner will stuff the most hungry appetite whether on a quick overnight trip, thru-hike, or even at a long, busy day at work. Backpacker’s Pantry Mexican Charros Beans & Rice has become a game-changer for store-bought dehydrated meals: OK for vegan/vegetarian Ddets, great calories-to-weight ratio, and most of all DELICIOUS! Receiving new items from Backpacker’s Pantry for testing was a nice challenge, being that I’ve been cooking and dehydrating my meals personally for… Full review

Good To-Go Indian Vegetable Korma

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is the latest addition to a line-up of six Good To-Go "all natural, dehydrated gourmet" meals. I found the product to be a fresh, healthy, and tasty alternative to the ever-growing line of pre-packaged, dehydrated backpacker meals on the market. I would highly recommend this product for those specifically looking for an all-natural, gluten-free, vegetarian option. It works well as both a stand-alone meal and as a side dish. The downsides are the higher retail cost and longer re-hydration time… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent taste, easy to prepare, with just enough bite on a cold evening. This is the second Good to-Go meal I have tried. On a snowy Lassen campout last weekend, it sounded like the perfect tummy warming dinner. The taste did not disappoint. Just the right amount of bite to warm things up without being oppressive. Prep was easy. Empty the coconut milk packet into the pouch, add boiling water and stir, wait 20 minutes (beer time!), and eat. I finished feeling completely warmed and satisfied. The… Full review
