Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent taste, easy to prepare, with just enough bite on a cold evening. This is the second Good to-Go meal I have tried. On a snowy Lassen campout last weekend, it sounded like the perfect tummy warming dinner. The taste did not disappoint. Just the right amount of bite to warm things up without being oppressive. Prep was easy. Empty the coconut milk packet into the pouch, add boiling water and stir, wait 20 minutes (beer time!), and eat. I finished feeling completely warmed and satisfied. The… Full review

Mountain House Macaroni & Cheese

rated 1 of 5 stars Avoid this meal unless you are looking for bland soup-like mac & cheese. Recently went on a four-day camping trip with my son, nephews, and brother. Typically my brother and I bring fresh food for our meals. However, since we had some picky eaters we decided to let the boys pick out their own meals. I knew from prior experience that these are really only enough for one person so each person had their own meal. I chose this meal for one of my dinners. First off, it is extremely easy to prepare,… Full review

AlpineAire Foods Wild Quinoa Pilaf With Hemp Seeds

rated 2.5 of 5 stars A vegetarian pilaf freeze dried backpacking meal which may or may not be suited to your palate. Freeze dried food — some are good, others downright terrible. The AlpineAire Wild Quinoa Pilaf - with Hemp Seeds  falls somewhere in the middle on that scale, primarily due to differences in people's palates. AlpineAire Freeze Dried Food Packets Opening the package, I immediately smelled a nice blend of spices, but also detected a strong hint of something that reminded me of hay, most likely… Full review

Good To-Go Herbed Mushroom Risotto

rated 4 of 5 stars This is a fresh, healthy, and tasty alternative to the every growing line of pre-packaged backpacker meals. While the recommended re-hydration period is quite a bit longer than other similar products, my sample of the Risotto did not take as long to re-hydrate as the other two meals. I would highly recommend this product for those looking specifically for an all-natural, vegetarian, gluten-free option. A note: I’ve included some of the same commentary for all three Good To Go reviews: Smoked… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a fresh, healthy and tasty alternative to the every growing line of pre-packaged backpacker meals. The taste and ingredient list are excellent but the re hydration period is quite a bit longer than other similar products. I would highly recommend this product for those looking specifically for an all-natural, gluten-free option. And since I'm a huge fan of Thai food, this is a well-received addition to my outdoors kit. A note: I’ve included some of the same commentary for all three Good… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a fresh, healthy and tasty alternative to the every growing line of pre-packaged backpacker meals. The taste and ingredient list are excellent but the re-hydration period is quite a bit longer than other similar products. I would highly recommend this product for those looking specifically for vegetarian and gluten-free options. A note: I’ve included some of the same commentary for all three Good To Go reviews—Smoked Three Bean Chili, Thai Curry, and Herbed Mushroom Risotto. For particulars… Full review

Good To-Go Thai Curry

rated 5 of 5 stars This is G2G's Gastronomical Leader of the Pack. I have eaten a lot of trail food, and this bag of mouth-watering, then pleasing+genuine THAI flavors, is the epitome of a really great, out-there dish!  AND, leagues beyond the typical over-dried, salty, flavorless trail fixin's you find in most backpacks (including all of mine, up until G2G!).    Here's the thing: I want to really LIKE — and feel connected to —  the company (the people!) who make food and other goods that I prefer to eat and… Full review

Good To-Go Smoked Three Bean Chili

rated 5 of 5 stars You won't be sorry — this is REAL food! Does it get any better than warm chili on a cold day? Perfect for those chilly days on the slopes! Chock full of veggies, beans, and a slightly smokey flavor. It's easy to prepare — just add boiling water. You can eat well at the ski lodge without it costing a fortune, what a concept... Portions are generous and it kept me going for the rest of the day! YUMMY!!!  Full disclosure: I am friends with the owners of Good To-Go. I've had the opportunity to… Full review

Good To-Go Herbed Mushroom Risotto

rated 5 of 5 stars Best camp food ever!!! Nothing like a warm, tasty meal when you're out in the cold and Good To-Go goes above and beyond! The risotto is fantastic — lots of mushrooms, lots of flavor, yum! Works great at ski lodges since all you need is hot water — you can have a great, gourmet meal in the lodge without forking over a fortune for the overpriced slope side fare. Would definitely recommend!!! Full disclosure: I am friends with the owners of Good To-Go. I've had the opportunity to sample these recipes… Full review
