"As its name suggests, the Voile Pack Shovel with Snow Saw was designed to fit well into your touring pack. The T handle is more compact for storage in your pack and the shovel's construction is a tad lighter than other models. The Pack Shovel stores a snow saw right in the shaft for avalanche pit work, cornice cutting, and snow shelter building. The saw can be removed from the handle and attached to most 2 and 3 part aluminum poles for longer reach (no dice on Life-Link poles, but works smashingly with Black Diamond poles)."
