Recent Warm Weather (above 35°F) Sleeping Bag Reviews

Alpine Design 45-degree Micro Lite Mesa Rec Bag

rated 4.5 of 5 stars An inexpensive hybrid design sleeping bag that works great in warm weather. Would be a perfect lightweight option for emergency equipment in a vehicle as well as being a decent bag for summer backpacking. Being a budget backpacker, I realized that one major way I could cut weight off my base load was to find a lighter sleeping bag that would keep me comfortable. I am also a stomach sleeper (one leg bent), so a skinny bag (mummy) wasn't going to cut it for me. In reality, almost anything was going… Full review

Marmot NanoWave 55

rated 4 of 5 stars Backpacking somewhere, where it doesn't cool down at night? Looking to save space, and weight in your backpack? Answered yes to these questions, then this is the bag for you. I used this bag on a 6-night hike through Yosemite. This probably wasn't the best choice in sleeping bags for that hike. The last night of the hike was the only night where the temperatures were above 50º. If you are going to purchase this product make sure you're checking the temperature of your nightly destination to make… Full review

Sierra Designs Men's Backcountry Bed 600 2-Season

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The reinvention of the sleeping bag is upon us! If you hate stuck zippers, if you hate suffocating into the side of your hood, and if you hate rolling off your pad, then you love the Backcountry Bed!! This bag is for folks who have been overall discouraged by sleeping bag use and wish they had the bed roll of old! The comfort rating for this pad is 27-37 degrees F Fits user up to six feet Trail weight is 2lb 8oz Sleeping pad size is 20" Fill = 600 Fill Duck Dridown I used this bag in an ENO DoubleNest hammock… Full review

Sierra Designs Men's Backcountry Bed 600 2-Season

rated 5 of 5 stars This bag is the perfect combination between a sleeping bag and a backpacking quilt. It allows you to sleep on your back, side, or stomach with ease. If you are a hot sleeper you can simply pull the attached top quilt away from your body allowing your top half to be exposed while your lower extremities are inside the bag. The Dridown fill makes worrying about the elements a no nevermind and its construction seems to be durable and will last me for years to come. I took this out for an overnighter… Full review

Sea to Summit Micro MC II

rated 5 of 5 stars I had forgotten how clever I thought this bag was. It is meant to be light, so don't complain about what it lacks but they try to compensate in other ways. They have just tried to leave the essential bits. The zipper baffle is stiffened just enough to stop it snagging.   It lacks a box foot to save weight... this allows you to open it completely like a quilt and vent the foot end of the bag but you may have to hitch the hole under you on truely cold nights.   The stylish black inner is I assume… Full review

Marmot Trails

rated 5 of 5 stars My Marmot Trails sleeping bag is a favorite for warm nights. I've used the Marmot Trails sleeping bag on many occasions over the past decade. It's been perfect for warm summer nights as well as those times on someone's couch. It is easy to launder — regular washer/dryer. When traveling by car and luggage space allows, I take it on trips in addition to a cold weather bag. Generally, if a cold night occurs, I'd rather add more warm layers of clothing than be stuck with an overly insulated cold weather… Full review

Therm-a-Rest Ventra Down Comforter

rated 4.5 of 5 stars It's lightweight, stays tucked around the pad, and warm for its weight. I love this quilt/blanket. Most of the summer, I can use it alone or with the Therm-a-Rest sheet set and that's all I need. When it's a little cooler, I either add a very small fleece blanket on the inside or wear my fleece long underwear to sleep in. I love the way it wraps around the bottom of the pad. I'm not one who likes to be mummied into a bag, so this lovely blanket allows me maximum movement but keeps me warm. It probably… Full review

Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt 800 2-Season

rated 5 of 5 stars The Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt 800 2-Season is a great top quilt for hammock camping. When used with a hammock underquilt, you can comfortably hammock camp down into the mid 20s, or using it without the underquilt, use it into evenings into the 60s. The Backcountry Quilt by Sierra Designs is great addition to my ENO DoubleNest and Blaze underquilt. Loved the built-in hood. It is exactly what I wanted. The footbox is comfortable and prevents the quilt from creeping off. With its included stuff… Full review

The North Face Allegheny

rated 4 of 5 stars So nice and lightweight and not bulky at all. Nice and lightweight and rolls up in seconds. Full review
