Whiz Freedom Feminine Funnel

rated 5 of 5 stars Oh my gosh. Before the Whiz Freedom, that awkward squat when everyone can tell exactly what you're doing—PEEING! You don't want anyone to see you peeing! Now with the Whiz, I can pee like a man! Sure if someone saw a dude standing with his back to the road it would be assumed he was peeing. But a woman just appears to be standing behind a car! I have been camping with this three times, but I do recommend practicing in the shower about ten times before you try it outside.  First time I used it… Full review

Ultralight Backpacking Titanium Cathole Trowel

rated 5 of 5 stars Leave No Trace is a backpacker's greatest responsibility. Digging a cathole has become easy thanks to ultralight titanium trowels. They do not break like the orange plastic ones. They are super light, do not take up any space in a pack, carrabiner to the outside. Not too expensive. Everybody that backpacks and poops in the wilderness should have one. I got tried of the cheap, stupid, orange plastic cathole trowels that break all the time. I would end up using a stick, and it takes forever to dig… Full review

TheTentLab Deuce of Spades

rated 5 of 5 stars Great trowel, gets the job done at the same weight as titanium trowels, but for about 1/3 the cost. Thanks for the review, TJ. I wouldn't have thought there is so much to say about a trowel! I own one of these as well, got it off the original Kickstarter campaign. From your pics, TJ, it appears the final product went through some very minor design mods between the Kickstarter campaign and full retail. The little hole at the top of the handle on mine is not a "starburst" shape, and frankly I wonder… Full review

TheTentLab Deuce of Spades

rated 5 of 5 stars Overall, the Deuce of Spades is a cleverly designed latrine trowel that is incredibly lightweight, very strong, and takes up a very minimal amount of space. Makes an excellent gift for the backpacker who has just about everything. According to the manufacturer:" The Deuce of Spades is an ultralight backcountry latrine trowel that’s also the only trowel in the world that can be used right-side up AND UPSIDE DOWN. It only weighs .6 ounces but it’s super effective and ridiculously tough." Initial… Full review

Podsacs Waste Management System L

rated 4 of 5 stars A dry bag with little features that make it ideal for carrying out both synthetic and human waste from the wilderness. Perfect organizational tool for managing waste and practicing the Leave No Trace philosophy. The product is well put together and more than adequate for the task. So what are these? Well basically they are a dry bag that has two enclosures to prevent leaking, and a bright red colour and warning sign not to be mistaken for anything else! They are intended for storing and carrying… Full review

U-Dig-It Folding Hand Shovel and Trowel

rated 4 of 5 stars A sturdy folding trowel for doing trowel-related business. Not exactly UL, but it won't break or bend even when prying rocks or chipping at compacted soil. Needless to say, this was a very popular item on our 8-person, 24-day hike on the JMT. The U-Dig-It Pro handled all that traffic with aplomb, allowing for safe and adequately deep deposits of bodily fruits in the Sierra's tough, rocky soils. My daughter kept it on one of the compression straps on the outside of her pack so it was always available… Full review

Restop 2 for Solid Waste

rated 4 of 5 stars Restop 2 is a solid waste disposal system ideal for outdoor adventures in locations where "packing it out" is a must. While heavier and more bulky than a plastic baggie, the Restop 2 ensures you won't be worrying about what's happening in your pack. Most of us know how to poop in the woods, but what about a cave or other location where burying is not an option? Imagine this true scenario: You're a good hour from the nearest cave exit, when your 10-year-old son declares he needs to go "Number 2."… Full review

GoGirl Female Urination Device

rated 2.5 of 5 stars This product worked well, but the idea of carrying it around with me after using it grosses me out. I'd much rather use a disposable one like Smartway. Easy, clean, and discrete. The concept of this product is awesome. The freedom for women to stand and pee has been long overlooked. The health and convenience this product supplies is great. The only downfall I have is the reusable aspect of GoGirl. It's like walking around with a mini toilet in your purse. I believe a disposable FUD like Smartway… Full review

Coghlan's Backpackers Trowel

rated 5 of 5 stars Been a durable dependable camp tool for over 10 years. It has taken its share of abuse with rock, roots, and hard ground and shows no real sign of any plastic fatigue. This is one of our camp staples, both for car camping and backpacking. I find it more convenient than trying to find a stick that's strong enough to dig in our rocky CO soil or using the heel of my boot. Plus, when you gotta go, sometimes you gotta go and it's nice to just have the tool right there. It has worked for us for more than… Full review
