Platypus plusBottle

rated 3.5 of 5 stars I sometimes use the Platypus plusBottle as a flask. Great for extra water on day hikes or road trips, very compact, not bulky and has been useful on many overnight camping trips. Bottle did not burst when I hiked into higher elevation, (thank god) but it did expand. I currently own other Platypus products (Platypus Big Zip 2L & 3L bladder and I love it), so that's why I was more inclined to by the same brand's products. I initially bought this bottle for an extra supply of water. It kinda turned… Full review

Nalgene 32 oz Wide Mouth Tritan

rated 5 of 5 stars Best water bottle on the market. For daily drinking or hiking, camping, or picnicking you can't go wrong. I use two on backpacking trips. I have never had a problem with carrying them. Other bottles seem to fall out of my pack. But not these, and the wide mouth fits any pump style system. I use two of them to even my pack load out. I have dropped one off a cliff about 30 or more feet. And it did't break! I've busted Camelbak bottles dropping them at home. Full review

Platypus SoftBottle

rated 5 of 5 stars Bottom line, doesn't flavor water and is easy to clean. What more do you want? Oh yeah, great price. This is firing on all cylinders. I bought my first one in 1998. I probably shouldn't but I'm still using it. I have packs from other manufacturers but the bladder in them is a Platypus. The bladder is the most important thing and nobody makes a better one. I have one from another company and I had to buy some expensive cleaning kit and a special thing to dry it out: not with the Platypus. I just… Full review

Klean Kanteen 27oz Classic

rated 4 of 5 stars I've had mine for six and a half years. I got two of them right from Kleen Kanteen. I bought the sport top, which allows me to drink without taking the cap off. The spout is good, but don't lay the bottle flat: It'll leak out. I've used these in running, cycling and camping. I have not noticed any extra weight. I take two of them in a Jansport Coltrane fanny pack on long runs in summer (this pack has upright bottle holders). Even though I put sea salt and grapefruit juice in my filtered water,… Full review

Alex Bottle

rated 3.5 of 5 stars An easy-to-clean metal water bottle. The Alex Bottle is a stainless steel water bottle that splits in the middle for easy cleaning and storage. I backed this project when they first appeared on Kickstarter and have been very happy with the results. CONSTRUCTION The Alex Bottle is made primarily of 304 stainless steel (food grade) with a polypropylene (BPA-free) lid and mid-body-band. The mid-body-band is threaded to connect to the lower half of the bottle itself. When the two halves are screwed… Full review

Vapur Eclipse

rated 4 of 5 stars Attractive, lightweight, foldable water bottle is great for camping or traveling. This 34 oz (1 L) bottle is durable and can be used with boiling water, frozen, and is even safe to put in the dishwasher. It is foldable down into a very small size and weighs practically nothing. It has a very secure top/lid that even has a carabiner for carrying, although this feels awkward to use when it is full. The material also does not change the taste of the water, unlike some other water bottles.   This type… Full review

Platypus SoftBottle

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I got a .5 L Platypus SoftBottle to work with my Sawyer Mini water filter. The Platypus works great. I've had no problems with leaks, and the bottle fits my Sawyer perfectly. It seems like a higher quality bladder than the bladders that come with Sawyer Minis. I recommend this setup to my backpacking friends who want a durable, easy-to-use filter system. I've had my Platypus for almost a year and have brought it on five different weekend backpacking trips. Although it's only seen moderate use, it's… Full review

Platypus SoftBottle

rated 5 of 5 stars Great for helping to filter water. I use the soft bottle with my Sawyer Mini to filter unclean water. The top thread screws right into the Sawyer for a tight seal. I modified the bottom end of the softbottle and attached some paracord so that I can hang it upside-down with the Sawyer Mini screwed on the end and let gravity push the water through the filter and into a Nalgene bottle I have. It's not the fastest way but it will drip 1 quart (32 ounces or almost 1 liter) of water every 30-40 minutes… Full review

Platypus Platy Bottle

rated 5 of 5 stars Well made, lightweight, and easy to clean. Sorry I didn't find this bottle sooner. Used to carry water bottles. Then I ran across the Platypus PlatyBottle. Advantage is that as the water is consumed, the bottle gets smaller. I can put it in my pack and it takes up less room. Also, I carry four of these, so when I camp far from a stream, I can fill them and be able to cook and do cleanup without having to make three more trips down to the water source. Best thing of all, is that these container add… Full review
