Miir Bottles Growler

rated 4 of 5 stars A huge, 64 oz. hinge-top growler. It'll keep hot and cold the way they should be. Highly durable, and a great seal. Here we have the Miir Growler. It's awesome. CAPACITY: This holds 64 oz. of water or whatever beverage you decide to carry with it. Judge based on your own experiences how long that will last you, as it differs person-to-person. That said, this holds a serious amount of fluid. EASE OF USE: The hinged opening on top is perfectly done. It's easy to open and close, and the seal is excellent. Full review

Platypus Bite Valve Cover

rated 5 of 5 stars Keeps your bite valve clean and sanitary. Potentially prevents you from getting sick on the trail (as I did) when you're far from the trailhead. I was hiking the Northern Traverse in Glacier in September. On the fourth night, at Stoney Indian Lake, I became really sick with a bad case of gastroenteritis. When we arrived at camp, it started to get windy, cold, and wet. I and my two hiking partners set up camp, then walked over to the cooking area for dinner. Curiously, I had no appetite and had to… Full review

Platypus SoftBottle

rated 5 of 5 stars Bottom line, doesn't flavor water and is easy to clean. What more do you want? Oh yeah, great price. This is firing on all cylinders. I bought my first one in 1998. I probably shouldn't but I'm still using it. I have packs from other manufacturers but the bladder in them is a Platypus. The bladder is the most important thing and nobody makes a better one. I have one from another company and I had to buy some expensive cleaning kit and a special thing to dry it out: not with the Platypus. I just… Full review

Klean Kanteen 27oz Classic

rated 4 of 5 stars I've had mine for six and a half years. I got two of them right from Kleen Kanteen. I bought the sport top, which allows me to drink without taking the cap off. The spout is good, but don't lay the bottle flat: It'll leak out. I've used these in running, cycling and camping. I have not noticed any extra weight. I take two of them in a Jansport Coltrane fanny pack on long runs in summer (this pack has upright bottle holders). Even though I put sea salt and grapefruit juice in my filtered water,… Full review

Cyclone Hydro Reservoir

rated 3 of 5 stars Easy to use. Good price. This is/was my first hydration bladder from Wal-Mart. It's easy to fill and works fine, but I found it slightly hard to get clean. Even following the directions, it still molded while sitting to dry. Not sure what I may have done wrong. I have ended up using a baby bottle brush to clean it really well, but it is kind of a nuisance to do that over and over again. Full review

Geigerrig Nano Drink Tube

rated 4 of 5 stars The Geigerrig Nano Drink Tube is a tiny, 4mm sized hydration tube that provides a user effortless drinking or water extraction when paired with Geigerrig's pressurized hydration reservoir. Gone are the days of exerting and wasting breath drawing water from a bladder. These two systems work best together when backpacking, day hiking, trail running, and biking. Both the bladder and tube system should fit any pack equipped with a hydration sleeve. Since the Nano Drink Tube works best with Geigerrig's Hydration… Full review

Alex Bottle

rated 3.5 of 5 stars An easy-to-clean metal water bottle. The Alex Bottle is a stainless steel water bottle that splits in the middle for easy cleaning and storage. I backed this project when they first appeared on Kickstarter and have been very happy with the results. CONSTRUCTION The Alex Bottle is made primarily of 304 stainless steel (food grade) with a polypropylene (BPA-free) lid and mid-body-band. The mid-body-band is threaded to connect to the lower half of the bottle itself. When the two halves are screwed… Full review

Source WXP LP

rated 5 of 5 stars Easy to fill, clean, dry. Does not absorb odors or flavors. Easy-connect lines and mouthpieces. I've bought maybe seven hydration systems for myself and my family over the years.  All of them worked, but were a nuisance to clean. You can't easily remove the lines and bite valves. They absorb flavors and odors. Not the Source system. These guys really thought out their product, and produced well built stuff. The bladder has this crazy coating so it won't absorb flavors or odors. Every piece has… Full review

Source WXP LP

rated 5 of 5 stars Takes a beating and keeps on working. I purchased this product from GoRuck for their events as it's their recommended gear. I had a military surplus Camelbak bladder for my first event and it ended up leaking. My entire left side was wet.  I decided to actually spend a little more and get the Source brand bladder. To keep from having the giant bump on my back I chose the wide version. It sits nice and flat against the back and takes up little space in my pack.  This thing has held up very well. Full review
