Deuter ACT Lite 65+10

rated 5 of 5 stars I grew up with the old aluminum frame shoulder harness packs (virtually no hip support) hiking up and down the Presidential range in New Hampshire's White Mountains. This pack (mine is light blue -- slightly older) is wonderful for its capacity to make relatively light hiking a reality. My pack, with a week's worth of food and gear (with bear canister) is about 35-40# at start, and everything fits PERFECTLY. I have used it on a couple of dozen significant hikes and there is not a sign of significant… Full review

The North Face Men's Banchee 50

rated 5 of 5 stars Love this backpack! As an ultralight enthusiast I use it for up to one-week trips without any problems. This backpack is the best. Quality, stability, size, comfort... everything is in top category. And still I want to outline some features why it is better then other backpacks Super Features: Front pockets—Majority of backpacks have several pockets to organize staff. These pockets are usually top one, two side pockets on hip belt, and two pockets on sides for water, but everyone will agree that… Full review

Six Moon Designs Fusion 65

rated 3 of 5 stars Based on the durable materials and construction, I am guessing the primary intent for this design is to carry moderate to heavier loads (loads of 40-50 pounds). In 2015, the new Fusion 65 (67 liter) had two options for shoulder straps. One short and one even shorter (the s-curve). This is a durable pack designed to last for years of trail fun. "Fusion Packs are designed to carry whatever gear you need comfortably." is the motto for this pack according to Six Moons Designs. You can go to sixmoonsdesigns.com… Full review

Deuter ACT Lite 65+10

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This pack is very comfortable and durable. It carries a heavy load and has a ton of room. The price is very reasonable and it's perfect for long backpacking trips. I would recommend it for anyone, but it's especially perfect because the sizing adjustments work for just about anybody. I used this pack practically "right out of the box" for my JMT thru-hike August 2017 and never once had an issue with it. It was comfortable and never felt heavy and I was carrying about 45 lbs. I am 18 years old, 5'11"… Full review

Osprey Aether 60

rated 5 of 5 stars Used often. High quality construction. Very adjustable to individual fit. Comfortable fit. Carried it from Maine to Vermont on the Appalachian Trail and all over Colorado. I’m 72. Having a load feel comfortable is a high priority. Full review

Gregory Baltoro 65

rated 5 of 5 stars A comfortable and organized pack that handles heavier loads with ease. May not be the lightest backpack for its price range, but this pack is not the same heavy Gregory backpack everyone knows. This is a great pack. A huge 65L is a great versatile backpack you can use for just about anything. I usually carry around 30 pounds in this pack, although I've carried much more without no issues or notice in the weight difference. The hip belt and shoulder straps are all super comfy and provide good cushioning. Full review

Deuter Aircontact 65+10

rated 3.5 of 5 stars The bag is quite light and has a lot of great compartments. It has a zip on the bottom which is great for getting into the bag without having to take everything out of the top. Full review

Deuter Aircontact Pro 70+15

rated 5 of 5 stars Everything is powerful about this peace of gear, it is very very well-knit, large, but comfortable at the same time. You can rely on it for many many miles. Fits very well and easy to adjust, surprisingly comfortable, suitable for very long hikes under lot of weight. Extremely large, but perfectly easy to organize your gear inside of it. You can adjust and compress it, but still it remains a large backpack for multiple days and camping trips, not for weekend walks in the mountains. Made to last. Full review

Granite Gear Men's Crown2 60

rated 5 of 5 stars A great lightweight backpack suitable for everything from a weekend to a through hike. Very comfortable up to a 40-pound load. I first caught a glimpse of the Granite Gear Crown 2 60 liter backpack at the Winter Outdoor Retailer show this past January while rushing from one meeting to another. I rounded a corner and instantly fell in love. After my meeting, I stopped in at the Granite Gear booth and one of their smiling salespeople took me through the specifications and new ideas that make up this… Full review
