Osprey Aether 70

rated 5 of 5 stars This pack is comfortable, durable, lightweight and versatile. The Aether provides excellent body fit, adjustability, and balance. Very well designed storage and accessory pockets. I'm 5'9", 160 lbs. ("average build"), over 60, and have a surgically repaired back, so comfort is important to me. After a fitting at REI and trying on several competitive models, it became clear Osprey understood body symmetry. Loaded with 35-40 lbs the pack sits comfortably above my tailbone and distributes the load… Full review

Osprey Aura AG 50

rated 5 of 5 stars I love this pack. It's so comfortable. It feels like I am carrying 10 lbs less than what I am carrying. I've had always had back problems since giving birth, but with this pack's suspension my back is in heaven. I love this pack. It's so comfortable. It feels like I am carrying 10 lbs less than what I am carrying. I've had always had back problems since giving birth, but with this pack's suspension my back is in heaven. The shoulder straps are very cushioning. I took this backpack on an overnight… Full review

Osprey Aura AG 65

rated 5 of 5 stars Best multi-day pack out there. Buy the Anti Gravity system, it is worth the investment. The Osprey lifetime warranty and the quality make it the best deal out there for my money. Absolutely FANTASTIC pack. The Anti Gravity system makes 30# seem like 10, and the ventilation system keeps your back and torso dry. The fit is made for a woman's build, although you still have to measure for a small, medium, or large frame.  The Fit-on-the-Fly system makes small adjustments easy.   I researched packs… Full review

ULA Equipment Ohm 2.0

rated 5 of 5 stars Considered to be the second best pack on the AT, this lightweight pack for carrying 15-30 pounds is for experienced hikers and not for your novice hikers. Belt system, load lifters, loops for bottles another other items. I found the pack of my dreams after using the Gregory Z55 and Gossamer G4 over the last couple of years. This will be my Triple Crown pack. OK, again after trying two other packs out (Z55 and G4 45), I have found the pack for my Triple Crown. This is only a 2-pound pack but it carries… Full review

Mountainsmith Maverick

rated 4 of 5 stars Has been a great mult-use bag for me. I don't have as much long hiking experience as I'd like. I bought this pack in 2006 for a few days on the AT. I love all the external pockets so everything has its place. I don't remember it ever being uncomfortable.   I used it mainly for packing to Afghanistan as a contractor and R&R trips to places like Thailand. The only time I put a tent in it it was one too big for hiking. I would slide the poles in one side and the rest in the other. I like not having… Full review

Osprey Aether 70

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Carries heavy loads with ease, half a star off for lack of pockets. Great suspension with mesh back panel for ventilation. It is made with the highest quality materials, Have wanted to add this pack to my gear stash, but didn't want to drop $300 on it. Well, when Osprey came out with the new model of the Aether, I was able to find the older model deeply discounted. It was money well spent. The Aether carries 40 lbs with no problem. My Gregory Triconi 60 (basically the Baltoro 60) is good up to around… Full review

Gregory Paragon 58

rated 5 of 5 stars Infinitesimal adjustability, standout breathability, ridiculous comfort! As a satisfied owner of Gregory's Baltoro 85 and 75 GZ backpacks, I anticipated getting some trail time in with Gregory's new Paragon 58. Gregory Packs is no strangers to turning out coveted thru-hike size backpacks. In 2015, the Gregory Baltoro 85 laid claim to Backpacker Magazine's Editor Choice Gold Award and Outside Magazine's Gear of the Year Award. Heavyweight hauler comfort is what they are known for. As a review ranger… Full review

Teton Sports Scout 3400

rated 4.5 of 5 stars I would definitely recommend it for someone five feet two. This is a good backpack for someone just getting into backpacking. I tried it on at Sportsman's Warehouse and ordered it from Amazon. Full review

Osprey Atmos AG 65

rated 5 of 5 stars This product is extremely well built—strong, lightweight, and very detailed. There are adjustment buckles located almost everywhere on the backpack, allowing you to really adjust this bag and customize it to fit your body shape. Fit: How well does the pack and all straps fit you? This pack fits me perfectly. It comes in different sizes, and a small fits me perfectly (I'm 5'7", 140 lbs). Visit your local REI and have them help measure you. I thought I would fit an M, but after measurements the… Full review
