Osprey Aura AG 65

rated 5 of 5 stars Great pack! Super comfortable, many pockets, and it is adjustable to you. I took it on a weekender trip, and even without the brain had more than enough room for all my gear. I love this pack!! All the pockets make it so easy to stay organized on the trail. There is a zipper on the bottom, with a fabric shelf that separates it from the main compartment. I'm considering cutting that out to have more usable space. It rests very comfortably on the hips so it never causes any pain. It also rests away… Full review

Osprey Atmos AG 65

rated 5 of 5 stars Amazing pack! The most comfortable pack I have ever had with tons of extra features and storage. It's not the lightest but the comfort and versatility make up for it. The pack is made for men, but I am very short.  The small size fits me and the shoulder straps are very adjustable and the torso belt can also be adjusted. The venting is amazing thanks to the mesh that surrounds the pack. The small is about 62 L and that is plenty enough for me. I don't end up filling all the pockets and I always… Full review

Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Mariposa is well-designed and well-crafted. It strikes a good balance between weight, structure, convenience, and load-carrying ability. With the long collar, it can be compact enough for small loads or flexible enough to carry the occasional large load. For a lightweight pack, the Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60 feels beefy. The shoulder straps and hip belts are thick and sturdy. You can feel the slim metal frame that provides support when you grasp the top of the pack. A foam pad provides additional… Full review

Osprey Atmos AG 65

rated 3.5 of 5 stars While it is not ultra-light gear, it is good gear. It is comfortable and spacious enough for multi-day hiking. The Atmos AG is very comfortable and allows for multiple adjustments to shift the weigh. The AG stands for Anti-Gravity, and while that is not exactly true, it does let you adjust the pack up/down on the wire internal frame for a better fit. The hip belt is nicely padded, but the pockets on the belt are not easy to use with the pack on. I thought they would be nice to hold items that you… Full review

Hyperlite Mountain Gear 4400 Windrider

rated 5 of 5 stars Light, rugged, and comfortable. The Hyperlite Mountain Gear packs all reflect the stated HMG design philosophy: "Everything you need, nothing you don't." They are examples of what Colin Fletcher called a "Bloody Great Sack." Just one big interior space with no dividers. The 4400's are the greatest of the bloody great sacks. The only interior features are a mesh pocket behind the back panel, I suppose for a hydration bladder, and a small web loop at the top of same where you could clip a car key… Full review

ULA Equipment Circuit

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Simple design and outstanding construction have produced this bomber pack. This pack is light and compact enough to take out for a day hike, yet spacious and rugged enough to head out for a multi-day winter trip. Near perfection. The only reason this product didn't get five stars is because I believe that gear can always be improved and individualized. Quite simply this pack is fantastic. Fit: I am 5'9" with a 30" waist. I bought the Circuit with the medium torso size and medium hip belt. The… Full review

The North Face Men's Banchee 65

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Very comfortable carry with efficient weight transfer to hip belt and an airy suspension, plus excellent load management and organization: as good as my old external frame pack in these areas while also being much lighter and having the control and balance of an internal frame pack. Model reviewed: 2016/2017 season Banchee 65 Men's L/XL Star rating: 4.5—personally, I'd probably give it a full 5, but there's always room for improvement, right? And who am I to be saying something is 5 star when… Full review

Lowe Alpine TFX Summit 65+15

rated 3.5 of 5 stars A solid, comfortable pack that is easy to adjust. I won this Lowe Alpine TFX Summit 65+15 (lime green and black version) from a photo contest on Trailspace, way back in 2008. What an awesome prize! At the time, I had purchased just two years prior a Kelty 6700 (110 liters). So the size difference was pretty significant! The weight is pretty comparable to the Kelty, so I have always found myself reaching for the Kelty, which offers more pockets, more capacity, and about the same level of comfort… Full review

ALPS Mountaineering Cascade 4200

rated 2 of 5 stars I loved this pack from the start. It is several years old now, but I've only used it 5 or 6 times for weekend trips. I have noticed the material beginning to come apart where the stitching is. This is taking place at nearly all stress points. Very disappointed with the build materials of this pack!!!! I would give it a 5 except for it falling apart. I would upload a photo if I had that option. Full review
