Manasalu Adventure 50+5

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A well made and versatile pack for every day or for the longer trek. Very well made and designed, definitely user friendly. For some time I have been trawling through the web looking for a new 55 L pack which had all the features that I wanted in a pack; This one I had seen and it fitted all the points that was on my list. When a New Zealand supplier decided after a year plus of stocking this pack they had a silly clearance price offer which I couldn't refuse. The pack is very well designed and… Full review

Teton Sports Mountain Adventurer 4000

rated 5 of 5 stars A fantastic pack for a great price! This pack is designed for Ultra Light backpacking. It weighs only 4lbs. I would definitely recommend this pack for those who are heading out for a few days, and want to keep the weight of their gear, including pack, to a minimum. I'm very impressed with this pack and I love using it. This is one of Teton Sports' newest packs, part of their Black-Out Line. It is a really smart-looking piece of gear, that I am happy to take on the trail.  It's a modern, innovative,… Full review

High Sierra Karadon 55

rated 3.5 of 5 stars High Sierra’s Karadon 55-liter backpack features an innovative, fully adjustable torso and waist belt. This design seems ideal for growing adolescent hikers, families with multiple children, or anyone on the market for a pack that is likely to fit a variety of body shapes and sizes. However, if you’re an experienced backpacker looking for a high-end pack designed for your specific body type, move on; this is likely not the pack for you. Testing Conditions I tested the Karadon 55-liter pack from… Full review

Lowe Alpine Sirocco Classic

rated 4 of 5 stars Great all-purpose camping/backcountry hiking backpack. Has held up over a decade with multiple people using it on overnight to 30-day trips. A bit heavy compared to what's available today. Padding is comfortable but hot. This pack has been a great pack for the family. Has held up over a decade of backpacking and intercontinental trips (as a checked bag with flight cover) and has been loaned out to friends over the years. (Each person adjusting for their size.) Loved it as a great all purpose family… Full review

Granite Gear Leopard A.C. 58

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent long trip pack. I recently purchased this item on eBay because I needed a little more pack room for a week long hike and for "winter" backpacking. Used it in March 2016 and I loved it. It's lightweight but had all the extra room I needed for the extra gear I was carrying. I love the fact that its height is adjustable because that is the biggest problem I have in trying to get a good pack since my torso is short. I love the roll down opening and the big stretchy side pockets. The one drawback… Full review

Berghaus Wilderness 65+15

rated 5 of 5 stars A comfortable and capacious 65+15 litre rucksack with adjustable back system, front access to main compartment, and expanding side pockets. Berghaus Wilderness rucksack. Bungee cords and carabiner clips are my additions. The Wilderness is the top end model in the range of rucksacks made by British brand Berghaus. It has Berghaus's Biofit back system which allows you to adjust the height of the shoulder straps according to your back length. The back is well padded where it needs to be, at the shoulders… Full review

Mystery Ranch Sphinx

rated 5 of 5 stars The Sphinx is a 65-liter volume panel-loading backpack made to Mystery Ranch's exceedingly high standards. Like many of their packs, it's a workhorse that can adapt well to the task of the day. I found the pack ideal for ice climbing and backpacking requiring off-trail bushwhacking, as the front zipper provides instant access to your rack and rope while keeping the outside of the pack as clean as possible. Best For: First Responders and Medics that need immediate access to packed items. Climbers,… Full review

Arc'teryx Altra 65

rated 4.5 of 5 stars After coming from an external frame pack, this is excellent. Top of the line pack that will easily carry any heavy load because of Arc'teryx's patented hip belt. The fabric used in construction is top notch and durable. Great purchase that will last a long time—if not for life. I use this for 2 to 7 day backpacking trips, most at high elevation in Western U.S. You could go longer, but it would require a space-saving sleeping bag, shelter, and strapping a lot of gear to the outside of your pack… Full review

Osprey Aura 65

rated 5 of 5 stars Even on a small frame like mine, this large pack is an excellent choice for a longer hike! First, I have to admit that I haven't actually been on a hike with this yet. I am training for a larger hike in May on a treadmill, but seeing as how this is my first pack ever (aside from childhood backpacks for school), I am extremely pleased! Osprey has a killer pack here. Here are the details: The "floating" back. I mean, there is wonderful mesh that allows for airflow between your back and the pack, no… Full review
