User Review: Wiggy's Ultra Light FTRSS

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars

Summary

Super warm, two bag system.
Well tested over 4 winters.

Pros

  • Warm, warm, warm
  • Versitile
  • Easy to maintain

Cons

  • Draft tube may be too small

I have owned this bag system for about 4 years and cannot say enough. I camp a lot in all weather from hot summer to a ton of winter camping. I sleep very cold, that’s why I bought this bag. Even in MANY nights lower than -10 degrees, I have stayed warm.

You need to “learn” the bag however, how to draw it closed, how to ventilate, even if you need a little extra. I slept in -24 degrees one night and added a thin wool blanket along the zipper area. I guess I only wish they put a bigger draft tube. But outside of that, wonderful! Easy to use, easy to clean. Just a great, warm bag.

I bought the big version and even though it is more to is more airspace heat up, I like the extra room for my pack boot liners and next day’s clothes. Nothing better than putting warn liners on you feet on a cold morning.

The two bag system (FTRSS) meets all my need. Outer bag for summer, inner for spring and fall and both for winter; you just cannot beat it.

Wiggy has been great to work with. They put some break-away zipper on the bag and there was something I
didn’t like about it; the pull was tough to use when you were zipped up inside. Called and they replaced the bag no questions. I forgot to return the pillow and even gave me a new one of those. They have been great.

The dual bags pack pretty big in the compression sack, but I guess, what do you expect? It’s a sub-zero winter bag.

I love it and I trust it!
