Wilderness Equipment Expedition 2

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The Expedition 2 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best expedition packs for 2024.

Bought this pack about six months and it's an absolute beauty. Bombproof and extremely comfortable. Wilderness Equipment packs aren't known for their good looks and this one is no exception. Field performance however is unbelievable. Gobbles up everything I can put in it for 7-10 day trips. Harness doesn't sag under a heavy load and comes in various sizes. One thing different about this harness is that it is bolted onto the frame of the pack instead of being sewn on the pack material. The canvas is very good at resisting water during rainfall, however for long term water resistance a packliner is a good idea.

I dont think i'd go to another pack again after using a WE pack.

I have two WE packs and the only ones that I have used that even come close are the One Planets or some MacPacs. The WE's are the toughest, most comfortable rugged packs for Serious hikers. They are not the prettiest and don't have as many bells and whistles as some of the others but they never, ever, ever let you down and they are one of the most waterproof around.
