Wilderness Experience Solo Glacier Down sleeping bag

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

Wilderness Experience is no longer in business, and the Solo Glacier Down sleeping bag has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best 3-season down sleeping bags for 2024.

Version reviewed: Long

Used this bag for two weeks in Alaska caribou hunting and several trips to Colorado elk hunting and it worked great. Had a storm in Alaska, temp dropped to 15 and had 60 MPH winds so strong they collapsed a dome tent with fiber glass poles to the floor. Curled up in bag and slept all night while partner laid awake all night cold and uncomfortable.

Pros

  • Very warm
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • If it gets wet hard to dry, but have had it on many hunting trips and never had any problem.

I bought the long one even though I am short, 5'6". It gives me room for clothes in the bottom without interfering with sleeping room. Very warm and comfortable, zippers work great, compresses in stuff sack easily, unpacked lofts easily.

Very well constructed and have had a long time without problems. Wish that Wilderness Experience had not sold the business.
