Sierra Designs Men's Microlight 2 Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars A good, basic wind breaker (when did these begin being called wind shirts?). Breathable, packable and roomy enough for layering. This is one of the clothing items that make up a layered system that can handle a wide range of climates. From a winter camp in Wisconsin to windy days along the shores of Lake Michigan and bike commuting in Chicago this basic windbreaker works just fine. The price was good, quality top-notch. All it lacks is the high-priced name tag of other outdoor clothing. I bought… Full review

Patagonia Men's Houdini Jacket

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Well constructed, lightweight, and does keep the wind out. Not so good if it gets very wet but in light mist or rain it works fine. Well constructed, very light and easily packable. Runs true to size. I'm about 5'11" 190lbs and the large is just right. Seems very reistant for overall wear. All in all a good light jacket. Brooks-Range Lt Breeze Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars The Brooks-Range Lt Breeze Jacket is a versatile, innovative, ultra-light wind jacket. The innovation? Paper thin “fleece” diamonds laminated to the inside of the 20-denier nylon fabric that keep cold, wet nylon off your skin or base layer and boost airflow beneath the fabric. This jacket looks great, fits well, wears like iron, and weighs a scant 5.3 ounces in size medium. Those fleece diamonds do exactly what Brooks Range intended; they eliminate that clammy sticky feeling when wearing this… Full review

Patagonia Light and Variable Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This jacket is perfect for those rainy summer days. This jacket is perfect to take on camping trips. It folds up into its pocket and has a clip you can clip onto the back of your pack. It is also perfect for traveling on an airplane. Fits right into your carry-on in case it's a little chilly on the plane. It's lightweight, which is perfect for those hot, rainy summer days. The material is very comfortable and doesn't stick to your skin. You can tighten the hood if the rain starts to get bad. The… Full review

Paramo Fuera Ascent Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a very light robust windproof with a DWR coating to keep off light showers. Totally multi-dextrous in use. I have used it for general wear, hiking, backpacking, cycling and canoeing...and it fits nicely into all these categories. It looks great. This piece is very good indeed. Everything works very well, especially the hood which has three adjustment points. It is more complicated than most wind jackets I have had before in that it has not only the great hood but also pit zips and two large… Full review

Patagonia Men's Alpine Houdini

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Hello, backpackers. I fully agree with the last review. I would just add one important thing:  I bought it and was very satisfied and with the nice light blue color too. However I noticed that when tightening the back hood elastic it is OK on the top of the head, but the cheeks and chin are widely open to the rain that comes in. There are no elastics going up to the zip that tightens around the face. That's why I give 3.5 stars. Full review

Mountain Hardwear Men's Transition Zip T

rated 5 of 5 stars Please, please, please Mtn Hardwear reintroduce this windshirt into your product line. This is the best piece of clothing gear I have EVER owned. If they were still manufactured, I would probably buy three of them. Please Mtn Hardwear, fire up the machine and crank these out again. Props to the Peeps that manufactured and designed this. It was MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!!!!! Full review

Black Diamond Men's Alpine Start Hoody

rated 4 of 5 stars A nice balance of breathability, wind resistance and precip resistance — more durable than your average windshirt (but heavier too). This isn't your average ultralightweight windshirt, for one it comes in at 8.2 oz in XL, about double what my other (Patagonia Houdini) windshirt is. But there are some advantages.   The Schoeller material has a nice stretch to it and is definitely going to be more durable than any of the real lightweight windshirts. It strikes a nice balance of wind resistance,… Full review

RailRiders WeatherTop

rated 5 of 5 stars A highly durable, comfortable, pullover that does not restrict arm movements. I wore this piece every day for a 7-day fly fishing excursion in the Amur River Basin of the Khentii Province in Mongolia. It was great in the mid-October cold weather and wind of the Mongolian Steppe and Mongolia Siberia where we ended up. We were fly fishing with large rods and heavy streamers which requires high arm motion double haul casting. The casting motion never felt restricted and kept me comfortable and protected… Full review
