Recent Winter Boot Reviews

The North Face Women's Chilkats

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Bought these boots on clearance and stored them in the box under the bed. First they were worn they cracked all the way across the toe on both boots. Complete garbage! Boots looked and felt great until I tried to wear them on my first winter trip.  Both boots cracked across the toe.   Full review

The North Face Men's Chilkats

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Rubber upper boot fell apart. I just pulled out my North Face Chilkats boots. The rubber completely fell apart in my hands. I have never seen anything like this. Very disappointed, and I paid a lot for these boots. I kept these boots in my closet in the house. The boots were rarely used.   Full review

Sorel Men's 1964 Pac Boot

rated 4 of 5 stars A classic winter boot that offers unrivalled waterproofing, extreme warmth, and stylish comfort for the long Canadian winter. The Sorel 1964 Pac boot is a Canadian winter classic. I recently purchased these boots with the intention of using them on 'gentle' backcountry trips and to use during my day-to-day life. So far, I have been nothing but happy with them.  I purchased them for $100, which was the result of a large sale from their normal Canadian price of $180. These boots provide warmth through… Full review

Timberland Chillberg Mid Shell-Toe Waterproof Boots

rated 4.5 of 5 stars These lightweight Chillberg Mid Shell-Toe winter boots by Timberland are perfect for hiking or just walking in snow, light mud, or wet terrain. They are well insulated, waterproof and comfortable. I recommend them for general use in the snowy outdoors. These boots fit beautifully. I wear a size 9 and the 9s fit true to size. No break-in needed. Wore them for 4 miles in Lake Tahoe on day one without issue. Loved the Primaloft insulation, which is 90% recycled material.   Warm and water resistant… Full review

Timberland Woodhaven Fleece-Lined Waterproof Boots

rated 5 of 5 stars These boots can be worn with the fleece top folded down or unfolded for higher coverage. They have a great tread on them so are good for walking in snow and mud. When not "off roading", they are very cute for city wear. They can tolerate cold and wet. I would recommend these boots for anyone who walks! I received these boots to review and was very happy with the fit. From experience, I knew to order a size larger. They are very comfortable. I walked a few miles through the forest after a light snow… Full review

The North Face Men's Chilkats

rated 1 of 5 stars Wore these boots 3-4 times a year for three years. Last snowstorm, while walking, the rubber cracked starting at the toe. Junk!!!!!!!! Junk! Full review

The North Face Thermoball Versa Boot

rated 4 of 5 stars I've worn these boots for a day. Ankle hurts from stiff boots, possibly needs break-in time. They are light, warm (30-degree day standing around all day at work). I normally wear 10.5 and these boots fit like other hiking boots, but I do have slightly narrow feet too. I wouldn't use them for hiking. 12/13/2016 Update: It's been a few days now, the boots did need some break-in time. I'm impressed how warm my feet stay for such a light boot. I still wouldn't use them for winter hiking, but for light… Full review

Muck Boot Muckster II Low

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Rain or shine the Muckster is fully waterproof. A great slip-on camp or barnyard shoe. Muck boot says to "Leave them at the back door." The Muckster II Low is a great little slip-on winter boot for wet and sloppy conditions at a backcountry camp, backyard, or farm. The Muckster is constructed using Muck Boots' self-insulating waterproof foam inner boot bonded directly to the waterproof molded rubber outer boot. A breathable air mesh lining pulls moisture from your feet into the foam liner for… Full review

Wolverine Crossbuck Waterproof LX

rated 4 of 5 stars Fully waterproof, this boot will keep your feet dry during winter activities. Vibram Artic-Grip soles for secure walking on slippery surfaces. Insulated to keep feet warm. A great boot for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or hiking. The Wolverine Crossbuck LX boot is a new arrival to Wolverine's line of winter boots. The Crossbuck LX is a full leather cousin to the already popular Crossbuck FX boot. I was able to get an early sample of this boot from Wolverine for testing in February of 2016 and gave… Full review
