Ibex Men's Nomad Full Zip Hoody

rated 4 of 5 stars Love that cozy merino and great fit, but zipper really sucks. I love merino wool hoodies.  I have an Ibex Nomad, a Smartwool Phd, a Minus33 Kodiak, and an Ibex Aire.  My favorites are the Ibex Nomad and the Ibex Aire.  I haven't come across an Icebeaker model that suits me at a decent price point (all my others are ebay or sale purchases). Each has its own particular use. For backpacking it has to be the Nomad. I particularly enjoy the non-itchy, warm, comfy feel of the brushed merino wool close… Full review

Ibex Men's Nomad Full Zip Hoody

rated 4 of 5 stars A warm and low-profile insulating layer for active pursuits. It has the benefits of the warmth, versatility, and odor resistance of merino wool, for those looking for an all-natural mid-insulating layer that can deal with moisture. (It does not wick moisture as well as synthetics, though). The hood and other features are welcome in this jacket. Fit might be an issue for some. This runs narrow and can be at risk of shrinkage after laundering. You can thank Ibex for this 100% merino full-zip hoody. Full review

Woolrich Wool-Lined Mountain Parka

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great three-season outer layer. Warm, durable, water resistant. The Woolrich Mountain Parka has been a very important outer layer for me for four decades of hiking/backpacking here in northern New England where I have grown up. I have worn this parka on Mts. Washington and Katahdin during winter ascents of both. It has a water resistant outer shell of what Woolrich calls Ramar Cloth that in reality is pretty waterproof. A few weeks ago I tried out my third parka in 40 years during an all-day bushwhack… Full review

Smartwool Men's PhD SmartLoft Divide Hoody Sport

rated 5 of 5 stars The SmartWool PhD SmartLoft Divide Hoody Sport has been within arm’s reach of me all winter. It's one of the best insulating layers I have used for resort skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, and around town. I highly recommend this jacket for anyone looking for a well-rounded insulating layer that is different from the traditional down or synthetic options. I have had this jacket with me for every activity I participated in all winter. Whether it was backcountry skiing, resort skiing, snowshoeing,… Full review

Ibex Women's Wool Aire Sweater

rated 5 of 5 stars The Ibex Wool-Aire Sweater is a lightweight jacket made of lofted wool encased in water resistant nylon fabric. I wear this jacket year round. I like it best as a camp jacket after a day on a bicycle tour, but I can also wear it while riding when the temps drop. Best of all, if it rains, because it is wool, it still keeps me nice and toasty warm even if it gets wet. The Ibex Wool-Aire Sweater is one of my favorite pieces of clothing. Because the nylon shell is filled with lofted wool, it keeps me… Full review

L.L.Bean Maine Guide Zip-Front Jac-Shirt, Windstopper

rated 4 of 5 stars I have used one of these jackets as my primary fall and winter outerwear in Wisconsin for two years. It is well made, warm, and resists wind or light rain. If there was as a storm flap under the zipper and an inside pocket, I would have rated this 5 stars. See above. I would highly recommend for an everyday knock-around jacket. Full review

Columbia Expedition Ridge Wool Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the ticket if you need camo. It blends with most natural areas. It is very quiet when putting the sneek on mountain animals such as mountain goats or sheep. I use this coat when high or wooded areas are my area of operation for photographing mountain animals, or hunting at high altitudes were there is some vegetation. I also used this jacket while doing backcountry Law Enforcement operations. Get one, you won't be sorry. Full review

Woolrich Classic Hunt Coat

rated 5 of 5 stars I have a vintage one from 60s or 70s. I got it from Ebay. The jacket is 40+ years old however it is still awesome looking and going strong. It's the perfect jacket for day to day casual city commuter. Heavy thick wool coat; it cannot get any better than this.   Full review

The North Face Bellflower Bomber

rated 5 of 5 stars I bought my wife this jacket in blue and she LOVES it. Seldom does she go anywhere without someone complimenting her about it or asking her where she found it.  One thing that you don't notice from the pictures is the inside lining...VERY nice. This coat is surprisingly heavy but since it feels like a heavy wool blanket with a silky soft lining when it is FREEZING out she's not complaining.  Very warm and stylish. Full review
