New to backpacking, I grew up in western Michigan close to Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan. Forever an outdoors kids, I find my center outdoors,mno matter the weather. I backpack with a group of friends from my urban neighborhood at least once a year, but hope to do more. Our goal is to get better at backpacking so we may share with our sons and daughters why we need natural spaces, and why weneed to know how to learn from, respect, and cherish them.
