Today a friend and I went on a short dayhike in to the foothills of the Catalina Mountains

Fall color along lower Sabino Creek

Golden Sycamore along lower Bear Creek

Looking up Bear Creek Canyon

Prikley-Pear-cacti-along-Bear-Canyon-roaPrickley Pear Cacti along Bear Canyon trail

Tanque Verde mtns from Bear Canyon looking east

Santa Rita Mtns 60 miles away to the south from Bear Canyon

Sabino Dam with new snowmelt flow

Lower Sabino Creek

We were going to hike up to Seven Falls but the water in the creek was too deep from the recent rain and snow melt. It got into the mid 60s today.

Nice looking hike Gary.

60's a heat wave?  Down right sweltering here in FL @ mid to upper 70's.

Nice, Gary, that (with the exception of the cactus) looks like California a couple months ago! :)

Looks like a good day Gary. You got some nice pics. All that rain sure greened things up. Nice to see water flowing in the deserts again aint it.

I was also out enjoying the nice temps on Friday and Saturday, will be posting a report shortly.
