I needed a light panel-loading pack with a good padded hip belt,one small exterior pocket, and ample cargo net/pockets on the exterior, and under 30L to make it thru airline carry-on weight and size requirements. This pack had all that. It is extremely comfortable to wear with 15 to 20 lbs. I can even carry my 13-inch laptop inside with enough space for clothing and supplies for extended trips abroad.
