REI Arete ASL 2 Tent

It was very good, while it lasted. I really liked this tent (I had the first of three updated versions, I think). It was the 'Goldilocks' sweet spot for me of a four-season-capable tent with more interior room than most two-person mountaineering tents, and better ventilation than most as well as lighter weight. Was easy to set up, had good number of interior pockets, and decent vestibule space. Lovely tent—lightweight, spacious, and good quality. I've owned this tent for over 15 years. I've looked around for a replacement (for no reason other than because "New! Shiny"), but finding another tent that is as light (2.4kg) and as well-designed  as this one is not easy (okay, there are a couple of Hillebergs, but look at the £££). Very fast to set up and take down. Ticks these boxes: High quality, lightweight, made in the US, reasonably priced. My wife and I recently completed a short canoe camping trip in Algonquin Park. Vango Blade Pro 200

Interesting design with pros and cons, could have been worked out better. Motivation I bought this as a one-man tent, to have enough space for my pack inside. Buying the Blade 100 would relatively save little weight and not be wide enough. I wanted to have more headroom than in the bivouac tent I already had, to be able to sit up inside. Tarptent StratoSpire 1

The Stratospire 1 is lightweight, able to withstand severe weather, roomy, and well-constructed. An ingenious design brings together many of the benefits of multiple shelters including a tarp and tent (a well-named product). It needs seam sealing and takes practice to get the pitch right, but gets easy. Tarptent Moment DW

A lightweight one-person tent that is easy to set up, takes up minimal space, and gives an easy drumtight pitch. Setup:  This tent is incredibly easy to set up. Stake one end, insert the main hoop pole, stake the other end, and tighten the guylines. I can set this up alone in less than two minutes after I find a spot. REI Arete ASL 2 Tent

Nice tent for the weight, but a little on the thin side. The fabric is just OK and not as durable as high end tents...however the weight is saved. Overall worth the money. Lightweight, pretty durable, good quality, and REI one-year warranty. The cheap stakes (not enough) and guy ropes are a joke. I replaced them immediately. Using the vestibule entrance with two people is a pain because it's small. Nice that it has plenty of room inside for two and the packed size and weight are worth the money. Full review

Tarptent Scarp 2

This light 2-person tent is roomy and easy to set up. With two doors and two vestibules there is plenty of venting when weather permits. The inner tent options and crossing pole options make it a 4-season tent if desired. This Tarptent 2-person tent is all silnylon for light weight. The quality and design features make it one of the best 2-person backpacking tents available.  In a pinch the tent is large enough for three ("consenting" ;o) adults sleeping head-to-toe.
