Eureka! Timberlite 2

rated 4.0 of 5 stars

The Timberlite 2 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best three-season tents for 2024.

tent is great for solo backpacker, shoulder to shoulder and no equipment for 2. fly extends over front door/screen like awning to allow for ventilation during rain. have used for four years, more than 75 nights with no defects. never leaked a drop, although seam sealed at time of purchase meticulously and very well cared for. white fabric and silver fly make interior much more pleasant than green tents. semi-freestanding, you will need to stake out the center of the fly on either side, staking out corners helps.

Comfortable for 1, but too cramped for 2. The sidewalls sag unless staked out at 6 points (4 corners and 2 sides). With two people in tent it is inevitable that you will press sidewalls against fly making this tent WET even on dry nights. Materials and workmanship are very good. In my opinion this is a good one man tent.
