Helle Temagami

The Helle Temagami is a well made knife with a laminated blade that has stood up to years of use and abuse. It has curly birch handles and a scandi grind making it well suited to bushcraft and camp activities.  My experience with the Helle Temagami has been all round good, it has been my primary knife on many backpacking and bushcraft trips, and I have always been able to trust that it will get the job done. It is great at hacking away and branches, building shelters, preparing fire and even carving,… Full review

Morakniv Eldris

An interesting Scandinavian design, to make traditionalists smile, or frown. Tough, tiny, and tactile. Guaranteed to elicit strong opinions. Excellent Swedish steel—just not much of it. I like small knives for a lot of purposes. We are only allowed to carry three-inch, non-locking, folding blades in public, here in the UK, so I'm used to those limitations. The Eldris, is a pocket knife-sized fixed blade, with a diminutive, 5.3cm edge of 0.2 cm thickness, made from 12C27 stainless steel, with a… Full review

ESEE Knives Junglas

The flagship of all Esee knives. The only knife you really need to do everything in the outdoors. This knife will do big and small knife tasks equally well. If you're interested in an Esee product, this is the one you want first. I've worked this knife hard for about 6-7 years now. It is a do-it-all knife sized machete. You can chop with it, cook with it, carve with it, cut rope, clean fish, baton, scrape bark you name it and the Junglas can do it. It's got a very interesting high saber grind that… Full review

Morakniv Kansbol

Marginal performance in the field and nothing special. I'm a sucker for reviews and finally bought a Mora knife. I use a lot of knives and test them pretty hard. I have read and watched countless videos about Mora for over a decade now. This new Kansbol was supposedly the best bushcraft knife according to everyone rating these online at the time. Well, after playing with this toy, I found it absolutely useless and drastically overpriced for what you get. I just don't get the Mora hype. Mora knives… Full review

KA-BAR Becker Companion BK2

Most useless knife I've ever owned. I have owned and tested a lot of knives in the field and I really don't get the love for this model. I think people with little experience buy this and then give it 5 stars. Just look at the pics, the knives look unused. Nobody that used a knife daily could actually like this. Maybe they just like being hard on themselves trying to make this ridiculous knife perform? I just simply cannot believe the positive reviews. I bought into the Amazon rating hype many years… Full review

Ontario Knife Company SP-1 Combat Knife

Best knife for the money. A one and done survival, combat, and camping knife. This knife does not get enough credit in the outdoors industry. This is simply the best do-it-all camping/survival knife made for the price. In my pursuit for knife perfection, I spent a lot of money testing everything popular on the market. I have some really great knives as a result, but were they really that much better? No. When you're looking for bomb proof and high value it's definitely the venerable SP1. Unlike… Full review

Dicerox Lagertha

Made of Vanax steel from Uddeholm, DICEROX's Lagertha bushcraft and survival knife doubles as a camping axe and camping food prep knife. It's hard to trust a new brand in a segment where there are so many players, but I loved the way that Lagertha (Dicerox calls their knives after strong women) looked. It takes inspiration from the old Viking Seax knife design, but comes made from Vanax steel, which is rare. Works well for both batoning wood and feather-sticking and most camp and survival projects. TOPS Knives Mil-Spie 3

Whatever possessed God in heaven to make a man like Rambo? Well, the answer to that question is the TOPS Mil Spie 3. Ok, so no, Rambo would not have ever owned this knife. That's movies for ya, not to mention John Rambo never lived in NYC that has strict knife laws. I live in Queens, N.Y., which is governed under NYC knife laws. Here in NY one is only able to carry a folding knife that is less than 3 1/2 inches or a fixed blade that is under 4 inches long (blade length). But I am also an outdoorsman… Full review

Schrade Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife SCHF57

The Schrade SCHF57 is a High Carbon Stainless Steel 6.3-inch full tang fixed 2.5-inch Blade Knife with 2.6 inch Drop Point Blade and G-10 handles. I can actually say I love this little guy. Designed to be a multi-carry option.                                      Schrade SCHF57  2.5" inch Blade Knife  A very good 2.5 inch Bushcraft Knife that doesn't break the bank   Schrade SCHF57 6.3 inch Steel Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife w/                                … Full review
