Marmot Expedition Mitt

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Product is good. Runs way large. Customer service is non-existent in trying to exchange. Purchased the gloves for winter photography. I usually wear XL mittens, so that’s what I ordered. Turns out the mitts run way large. Several attempts via email and telephone to contact customer service were fruitless. After trying for two weeks, I’ve given up and am left just sharing a review. The mitts are very good and if you can get them from someone reputable I would encourage you too. Do NOT purchase… Full review

Eddie Bauer First Ascent Guide Gloves

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A very good winter glove for all but the coldest weather. A nice combination of warmth and freedom of movement. Very nice leather palms. Not waterproof, and leather needs to be treated periodically. Also, no gauntlet or leashes. For me, this is the glove that bridges between cold (30 degrees) and very cold (zero degrees) for most pursuits.  The gloves are insulated with Primaloft, with twice as much insulation on the back of the hands as the palm.  Regular price $129; purchased at one of their… Full review

EMS Men's Summit Gloves

rated 4 of 5 stars The Eastern Mountain Sports Summit Gloves are warm, waterproof gloves suitable for all outdoor winter activities. Primaloft Silver insulation keeps your hands warm, and leather palms with synthetic suede reinforcements give durability. Note: The Summit Glove has been renamed Ascent Summit.  I’ve always found EMS gear to be very serviceable and very reasonably priced, so when I needed a new pair of winter gloves the local store was my first stop. The Summit is EMS’s warmest glove, and since… Full review

Eddie Bauer First Ascent Guide Gloves

rated 4 of 5 stars An insulated, (mostly) leather glove which balances warmth with excellent dexterity. Adequate weather protection for all but the worst weather, very high durability and a perfect fit make this the best glove option I've found.   FIT AND COMFORT When it comes to gloves the fit is paramount. Like footwear, it doesn’t matter how good the product is, if it doesn’t fit you properly then it will not function very well. Many other articles of clothing you can get by with a less then subpar fit. If… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Alti Mitts

rated 5 of 5 stars I’ve used my Alti Mitts for years and have found them to be of the highest quality. They have outperformed every other mitt I have owned prior to them. Fit and Comfort: Although dexterity is somewhat limited in a thicker mitt, I am more than willing to trade a lack of digit wiggling for warmer hands. I live in MN where temps often fall below 0°F. From my 5 years of experience with the Alti mitt, they perform exceptionally well in temperatures down to -20°F (assuming little activity—e.g. sitting… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Couloir Gloves

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great gloves for cold days on the move. Idiot straps, as it turns out, are a very smart idea. The Couloir Gloves are tough, warm, and make great backcountry work gloves. I DID get a little dampness in them and I wish the booger wiper on the thumb was softer and I wish it had a goggle squeegee. They are warm enough and nimble enough for everything except sitting still.  Test day, wet and snowy Skiing, "I like these gloves." Testing Conditions: I have been using these as my ski gloves this winter… Full review

Marmot Exum Guide Undercuff Glove

rated 3.5 of 5 stars A glove for enhanced dexterity in cold weather. Very good in terms of ability to use your fingers. Warmth is limited—if you aren't moving and it's below thirty, expect cold hands. Nice durability and waterproof. For the intended function, a very good glove. INTRODUCTION Marmot's Exum Guide Glove solved my annual problem—using my fingers in cold weather without freezing them—and have the limitations you would expect from a glove like this. For $90 full retail, they are expensive for a glove… Full review

Superior Glove Calfskin Leather Extreme Cold Weather Gloves Mitt

rated 5 of 5 stars The company guarantees these mitts to be the warmest you've ever owned. For me, they are. For several years now I’ve been using the Outdoor Research Alti Mitt. I’ve had success with these in temps down to around -20°F. They are advertised as expedition mitts and I must say that I’ve been thoroughly impressed with them for the most part. (note: my Alti mitts are an older model. The current model may have better insulation) Lately, I’ve been subjecting myself to colder outings (-20 to -30°F)… Full review

Outdoor Research Men's Alti Mitts

rated 5 of 5 stars The best cold weather protection for your hands. I had my eye on a pair of these for the past year, so I bought a pair last week because of the oncoming weather and I was that impressed that I bought another pair just for luck. They are extremely warm and the build quality is second to none. Having read many reviews I came across some tests where these OR Alti Mitts were tested in the Antarctic against all the other top brands and when it came down to the final figures the Alti Mitts came out… Full review
