La Sportiva M-Kevlar

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The M-Kevlar has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2024.

Great boot. Very lightweight for the support it gives. Nice features like locking speed-lacing system. Very comfortable. I tried on other models of La Sportiva (Sierra and Tibet) that didn't fit as well out of the box. Perhaps they would've after breaking in, but who needs breaking in?

If they fit your feet, you can't go wrong -- comfort, support, great soles and good for long hikes, backpacking, crampons, rock scrambling, you name it, it does it. Only negative is that it's not waterproof, though of course, it can be treated.

They are awesome. The best money I have ever spent on footwear. Expensive, but worth it. I took them out of the box on Wednesday, wore them to the trailhead on Thursday, and hiked to the top of Mt Whitney on Friday: No Problem. They are sturdy, but so light you forget they are there.
